Excellence, Opportunity and Success
We would like to respectfully acknowledge the Elders past and present of the Wijabul Wiyabal people and other peoples of Bundjalung Nation.
We acknowledge that they are the first peoples of this land on which our school stands.
Stage 3 Brisbane Excursion We visited the QLD Museum and learned about interesting facts about QLD and its diverse wildlife. We explored the QLD Science Centre and learned fascinating facts about physics and science. Later that evening, we arrived at Boggo Road Gaol and learned the history of the notorious prison. Our accommodation was fantastic and so was the food. The day after, we went to the QLD Police Museum and tried to solve a murder mystery. Next, we swam at Southbank Water Park and enjoyed swimming in the pool. Lastly, we went to the Planetarium and saw an awesome show about space and the Milky Way.
After our two exhilarating days, we were ready for home.

Principal’s Report
School Swimming Scheme
About 80 of our students are attending the School Swimming Scheme this week. They have been learning how to swim and how to save themselves and others if they are in danger in the water. The students have been very well behaved. Thank you to the staff for coordinating and supervising this invaluable program.
Presentation Assembly
Our annual presentation assembly will be held on Tuesday 12 December at Southern Cross University from 9 to 11am. Students will be transported to and from the venue by bus accompanied by teachers. Students are to wear their school uniform. Parents and guests are invited to attend and should make their way to the Y Block theatre at the University.
Year 6 Graduation
This very special occasion will also be held on Tuesday 12 December. It will be held in the function room called Zest which is above the indoor swimming pool at Southern Cross University. Year 6 students and families will celebrate the important milestone of completing their primary school education in readiness for High School. It promises to be an enjoyable night as we say farewell to our wonderful year 6 students.
Christmas Carols night
Our annual Christmas Carols night will be held on Wednesday 13 December in the school grounds. We will be joined by members of the Extension band which contains many ex-students of LPS. Students will lead the singing of carols and each stage will also perform a short item to keep you entertained. I have also heard that we may have a very special guest visiting during the night. The P&C will be operating the canteen with drinks and food available. I encourage you all to come along for a very enjoyable night.
P&C Raffle
The P&C are respectfully asking for donations for their monster raffles to be conducted at the Carols Night. Small items can be left at the front office. Tickets and money should be returned to the office prior to the event. There are spare tickets available at the office if you wish to sell more to support this great P&C fundraiser.
End of Term
The school year officially finishes on Friday 15th December for students and Tuesday 19th December for some staff. Students are expected to attend school until the last day of term. If you are considering an early finish, you are obliged to apply for leave through the school.
Have a great week and an enjoyable term.

Uni-Bound Day
Last week the year six students had the opportunity to attend a program at Southern Cross University called Uni-Bound.
We get to do this program each year as we go through school. This year we did activities such as creative arts, health
science and engineering, We all had lots of fun and it was a great experience. We had the chance to work with different
people and see what uni is really like. One of the activities was building the highest tower we could using only a box of
tin foil and some blu-tack. It had to withstand and earthquake and high winds. It also gives us an idea about what occu-
pations are linked to different university courses. We are looking forward to going again in year seven.
