Pizza Ranch Fundraiser

This message from Doris Swinburn, Event Chairperson, says it all!: I want to thank everyone, members and their spouses, who volunteered last night at our first fundraiser for this year. There were so many of you helping that the work was steady, but not too hectic. Some fun seemed evident, too! Thank you also to club members who came to eat and support our club. I’d like to give a special thank you to Lois Dixon for printing brochures and name tags and bringing other items, as well, to Karl Adlon for sending out several emails, and to Joe Johnson for use of the banner. We even received a compliment from the assistant manager about how pleased she was with our work and attention to details! It was a successful fundraiser with our club earning $808.00! What a great way to begin the year’s fundraising endeavors!

Thank you to everyone who participated in the

the flag holders lining the route. Thanks also to Bob

Pizza Ranch Fundraiser Pictures

At the entrance, Gordy and Cindy Cornelius greet

customers and GiveAKidAFlagToWave to the

youngsters.

(L-R): Sue Swisher, Ron Murphy, Judy Greer, Jim

Moews and funny man Joe Knapp are the servers,

bringing dishes from the kitchen to the tables.

You say it’s your birthday? We clap our hands and sing

to you, as (L-R, standing) Connie Yuknis, Carol

Murphy, Joe Knapp and, seated, Joe and Kathy

Johnson demonstrate.

Bob Dixon chats with customers as he busses tables.

{From Wikipedia: The term for a busser in the classic

brigade de cuisine system is commis de débarrasseur,

or simply débarrasseur. I didn’t know that!}

It can be a long evening, so breaks are a necessity, as

demonstrated by (L-R) Lois Dixon, Mary Jean Adlon

and Pat Tank.

As our shift nears completion, it’s clean-up time and Bob Dixon is not going to let that crumb escape the

battery-powered sweeper.

The Queens are in The Counting House . . .

and they are (L-R) Louise Hellstrom, Fern Greer, Lois Swinburn and Mary Jean Adlon.

THANK YOU,

PIZZA RANCH!

Some of us were there for 5 hours and I can tell you that while we were busy most of the time and it was nice to relax at the end, it was, by far, not the hardest work I’ve done. The Pizza Ranch people were very helpful and

understanding, as this was our first time doing this. It was nice to hear that they were happy with our efforts and I expect we will be happy to do this again next year.

Thanks you, Pizza Ranch!!

In case you were wondering, yes, I took this picture – with the Quad Cities
