Introduction

The XCENTRIC®RIPPER is an attachment initially designed for quarry rock excavation. In the beginning of 2009 the first

prototypes started to work for the first practical tests in all kind of different rock conditions. Nonstop and intense working from

that moment on, in all types of rock, has resulted in a 100% reliable, efficient, and maintenance-free attachment.

As of its market introduction at Bauma exhibition in 2010, close to 400 units of the XCENTRIC®RIPPER have been sold

worldwide, many of them working for more than 4.000 hours already, problem-free!

The XCENTRIC®RIPPER is designed to do excavation and demolition in less time, for lower cost and with a minimum of noise.

The XCENTRIC®RIPPER is developed with a worldwide patented impact vibration accumulation technology, which makes it

more productive than any hydraulic breaker available on the market in 70% of the job applications. In even 50% of the job

applications a 2 to 5 times higher production can be achieved.

Because of its design, the XCENTRIC®RIPPER is perfectly suited for a wide variety of activities. It is fitted with a closed energy

chamber that cannot be influenced or damaged from the outside by dust, water, dirt or whatsoever.

This means that the XCENTRIC®RIPPER can work without any problem in the most severe conditions in tunnels, foundations,

muddy and wet places. Even all kinds of work under water in for example harbors, canals, and open sea can be done without

making any special expensive and complicated preparations.

The XCENTRIC®RIPPER is made to last. It is manufactured completely of wear-resistant steel, with the tooth and tooth

locking set being the only wear parts. Because of the XCENTRIC®RIPPER’s mechanical design, neither daily maintenance nor

lubrication is necessary, a brief daily inspection will do. Maintenance is easy and consists of an every 500 hours oil change and

an every 1.000 hours grease change. That’s it.

With pride we refer to dredging company Jan de Nul – to whom we in May 2011 delivered two types of XCENTRIC®RIPPER:

type XR50, working outside the Swedish coast taking part in the development of a windmill park; and type XR80, working

outside the coast of Australia – and dredging company Van Oord – to whom we in December 2012 delivered two types of

XCENTRIC®RIPPER: type XR80, for under water works in Dover attached to a Komatsu PC1400; and type XR120, for under

water works in Australia attached to a Liebherr 995. Another type XR50 was distributed to worldwide contractor Aertssen NV,

for their work in Qatar attached to a Caterpillar 349.

Impressed by the XCENTRIC®RIPPER’s capabilities, company Jan de Nul now - together with manufacturer Grado Cero

Sistemas S.L., Xcentric Ripper International S.L., and Saes International B.V. - initiated the development of the XCENTRIC®RIPPER

type XR600, the ultimate work tool with a calculated operating weight of plus 60 ton. This XR600 is to be installed to a

Backacter type BA1100, of which the boom and stick only have a combined own weight of an impressive 240 ton.

Furthermore, Grado Cero has developed a GO Max Quick Coupler, specially designed for the XCENTRIC®RIPPER taking part

in dredging activities.

The value of the XCENTRIC®RIPPER has been recognized by quarries as well. Using the XCENTRIC®RIPPER, one is able

to control fraction size, one realizes a higher production, and one is confronted with littler waste, thereby obtaining a purer

end product. As the XCENTRIC®RIPPER is not limited by any need for licenses or permits, it is the answer to the increasingly

stringent requirements imposed on blasting.
