Through the advice of a trusted advisor, Personal Assistants, Executive Assistants, Team Secretaries and Administrators have an opportunity to learn how to stay on top of their game and set effective career goals that benefit themselves and their organisation.
PA Mentoring vs PA Training
PA mentoring provides an environment where EAs and PAs can engage an expert through a time-‐intensive PA mentoring programme that focuses on areas requiring development. In contrast to training, EA/PA mentoring enables PAs to engage an advisor concerning specific challenges with their workflow or working partnerships, and spend time perfecting their personal brand. People often seek a mentor at particular milestones in their career, such as a promotion. Our mentoring programmes are conducted face-‐to-‐face, via telephone and via email. However, mentoring conducted exclusive by telephone and email works just as well.

About Our Consultant EA Mentor Our Consultant PA Mentor is Marguerita King BSc DipPA. She is the founder and Managing Director of Personal-‐Assistant-‐Tips, a speaker, and a former Executive PA with over 25 years' experience. She has been described as “A PA guru” and “The Wikipedia of the PA profession”.
As a Consultant PA Mentor, I have worked with PAs at the top of their profession, as well as those who are just starting out. I have trained and mentored PAs and have written hundreds of articles on the PA role for our Personal-‐Assistant-‐Tips website, for newsletters and for publications. It is clear that the challenges PAs face are always the same: how to increase productivity, how to prioritise effectively, and how to develop a professional brand.
When I started my career as a junior secretary, it was easy to work my way up to senior PA roles. I deviated from the PA profession on a couple of occasions after completing a BSc in psychology. Today’s PA is well advised to aim for good academic qualifications; particularly as PAs and EAs are now expected to be strategic partners to their principals and assume more middle-‐management tasks.
As a former Executive PA I am very aware that bosses sometimes ask their PA to undertake tasks and projects that are outside their PA skill-‐set. This led me to create a website specifically for PAs and EAs, which I named Personal-‐Assistant-‐Tips.com. The website provides a one-‐stop information hub with over 150 articles for the PA professional. This led me to create Personal-‐Assistant-‐Tips in 2009.
I have written and developed PA training courses at intermediate and advanced level, including the Advanced Executive PA Masterclass, which has been delivered in Europe, the middle East, the Far East and Africa.“
“The road to success is always under construction.”
CLIENT TESTIMONIALS
"A pleasure to be associated with a consummate professional of great caliber! She came up with constructive ideas on how to be more efficient in my role as EA to the CEO. I found her to be extremely helpful and patient; giving so generously her time to offer advice and support. Using her PA website was a tremendous resource in further developing and honing my skills. Highly recommend her as an effective Consultant PA Mentor."
Heather, EA, Federation CJA, Montreal
“Marguerita is a very sincere and a confident mentor. She helps you to get to your goal by making them more specific and channelling your thoughts to achieving those goals. I am more confident and I have an effective job strategy, and a formula to take charge of my career as a result of the session with her..."
Ayo, PA, London
“Marguerita's skillful approach of the particular topics I lack in administration and organization grew me overnight thus being able to face my new challenge in the utmost professional manner.
Diana, EA, Geneva
"We covered an enormous amount of ground in each call, and the follow up emails clearly covered the points we’d discussed and set out actions. Marguerita is an absolute professional. When we spoke she was familiar with all the career and personal information I’d supplied. She is a good listener, astute and intuitive. I had not imagined I could gain so much from this sort of mentoring (distance rather than face to face) but my work with Marguerita has been really helpful. She is supportive and genuinely enthusiastic about her clients and her work. I feel I made headway on all the points I brought to the sessions, and I have a clearer sense of my next-‐steps both professionally and personally."

MARGUERITA’S COMMENTS
“I am passionate about increasing PA know-‐how. I currently live in London, England where I grew up. I remember the days when girls aspired to be secretaries and the skills that really mattered were typing speed, accuracy and tabulation. Much has changed in the PA profession since then. And PAs are constantly challenged to add value to their business partnerships.
