1. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

U.S. Naval Mobile Construction Battalion SEVENTY-FOUR Detail Bravo Lima deployed to Tiquina Naval Base, Lake Titicaca, Bolivia from 25 October 1988 to 15 December 1988. During this Deployment for Training (D F'I' ) , the Detail successfully completed its primary tasking of complete renovation of the Bolivian Navy Hospital Barge AH-O l '"Jul ian Apaza."' The Detail was the guest of the Commander, Bolivian Navy Fourth Naval District. The Detail occupied quarters provided by the base.

Administration - Administrative support and services for the leta1l were pr o vid ed by the U . S. Military Group loca t ed at the U.S. E mbassy build1 n ~ in La Paz. Services rendered included message c o~nunication, mail. medi cal assistance. vehicle transportation . and li a i so n with Bo li vian offic ials.

Operations - Detail Br a v o Li ma completed 348 direct labor on •he tas k ed project . deployment..

S u op l y - The Deta il was responsible for all its own f ood. Non - pe r is ha ble items were purchased in ' Puer to Rico prior to dep loymen t . Oth er items were purchased locally. Co nstructi o n mat.er1a l s were shipped in two shipments t o La Paz . The major sh ipment arrived via ship with the second coming by military ;.tircr a f t. No fur t her material sh ipments were necesary.
