We are seeing an increased number of ATM thefts happening.

In some cases money is stolen by breaking the ATM and in other, the ATM Machine itself is stolen.

Current CCTV surveillance is passive in nature and some one has to monitor the camera continuously, in the absence of an active alert system.

Problem Definition.

iTriangle has come up with a solution using GPS-GSM based remote monitoring technology.

We have conceptualized a GPS-GSM-Sensor based device which will be fitted inside each ATM to secure the ATM Machine.

The solution provides a 4 layer protection to ATM machines and provides an early warning facility to alert the security team concerned.

The solution also provides a tracking facility to locate the stolen ATM through GPS tracking.

The solution is based on identifying frequent methods used by thieves to steal money from ATMs or steal the ATM itself.

Frequent methods are as follows Breaking the ATM Chest by Physical Force.

Cutting the ATM Chest using some gas-welding, Laser cutting or similar such thermal methods.

Taking out the whole ATM Machine itself.

General Information

4 Layer Protection

The Solution provides 4 layers of protection to ATM Machines

Vibration Sense through

Accelerometer :

Trigger an alert/alarm when a

large vibration is detected( works

in case the ATM Machine is

hit/shook physically). A Three axis

accelerometer is used to detect

high impact vibrations on any 3

axis. A force more that 3g or 4g(

fine tuning needed based on

practical trials) is considered as a

hit and alert is raised.

Thermal Sense:

Triggers an alert/alarm when a

change of heat is detected around

the casing of the ATM Chest.( works

in case of attempt to cut the machine

thermally). A steam increase in

temperature is considered as trigger

point and in such events alert is

triggered.

Geo Lock:

Triggers an alert/alarm when the

ATM Machine is taken away from its

fixed location for about 25 to 50

meters

GPS Track:

Once the trigger is raised, the

Machine can be continuously

tracked on map. The device

runs for a day on its internal

battery and sends the location

co-ordinates to server for

tracking. Since the device is

fitted inside the ATM machine,

it cannot be tampered unless

the ATM is broken open.

The device and all the sensors are completely hidden inside the ATM Machine. Shall not be visible from out side and hence will be tamperproof.

A web application and a mobile application will be provided to continuously keep track and also to get timely alerts.
