Exercise 6

DEFINITION OF DLEB

The figure below shows 4 GEM:

Number 0-0, 0-1, 1-0 and 1-1.

This means that the target size of this switch is 512K, but the actual size is 64K.

The highlights marked with “I” are the extension of DLEBs from the start of the exchange and are the only ones. Later more DLEBS are needed and an extension according to the DLEBs marked “II” is made. There are no DLEBs in GEM 0–1 and 1-1.

First define the DLEBs in extension “I” and then define the extension marked “II”.Define XM and use numbers in MUX34 and MUX3 according to the rules that say that there might be 8 DLEBs in one GEM.

Remember the standard extension consists of 2 GEMs at a time Define all MUX3.

The extension of this switch consists of 4 GEMs equals 4 pairs of XDB. Imagine that position 1 is occupied with e.g. ET155 in both GEMs.

Find the parameters according to the physical positions only the definitions with GDCOI are made.

ANSWER:

How many DL2 links are defined in the 2 GEMs now?
