Aladdin Noir PhotoshootAs part of our research and planning, we were asked to convert a

children's story into the noir genre.

Planning -First we took the story of Aladdin and began twisting each character in the story to conform with the genre.

We sketched out some ideas for character costume and created a Redemptive Woman and Femme Fatale character.

We then did a photoshoot and edited the photos.

Red colors on dress and lipstick is edited to become dark coloured, in contrast to its light color in the second edited picture

Smoke from cigarette holder is added in both pictures, this is a physical theme common in the noir genre

Red color of scarf has been isolated and is the only color seen in the photo, this highlights the lust and danger seen in Femme Fatale characters

Effect seen in neo noir show ‘Sin City’
