Dear Cecile,
I would like to invite you to Rome to present your work and your most recent video that will be selected with the help of the gallerist Virginia Carbonelli. She is happy to present your work and provide you with carte blanche in her exhibition space in Monti. I hope that this occasion provides you with the posibility to further develop your research and art regarding the value of anxiety and the pain of existance.
Are we correct in sensing anxiety when watching your video ? For me it is obvious that your installations, videos, photos, paintings and performances provide us with the possibilty to reach a deeper level of intimacy. Is it possible to experiment with oneself through the fragmentation of reality and reconstruction of memories? In my opinion this is a horizontal equation and question regarding contemporary art forms. Contemporary art is continuously drawing from the artists’ personal implications.
Our friendship will certainly help us to personalize the responsibility of the artist, curator and gallerist and will give the viewer the opportunity to see this restless and unstable show that we hope to create.
