  • PARs Subsystem Description1-3L3DW3G Network-FTE Description: FTE issue is observed during R430.2 patch installation after

applying cumulative patch R430.2 from R430.1. The Honeywell FTE MuxAdapter does not have any IP address and the subnet mask does not allow anyvalues except 255.255.255.255. This is caused when the initial IP address ofthe Yellow adapter is set to DHCP by the Initialization Media and is thenchanged after Experion PKS installation is completed.Recovery:None.Workaround: This situation requires the Yellow adapter settings to be fixedbefore the cumulative patch is installed. To determine if this issue exists, youneed to answer the following two questions.1. Did this computer upgrade from R430.1 to R430.2 without any problems?

If Yes, continue with the migration to R430.3 point release.2. Was the Honeywell Adapter configured to a fixed IP address from DHCP

after the initial installation was completed?ORWas the computer initialized without configuring the IP Address? If yes, then the computer may become unstable after upgrade.

If the answer to question 2 is Yes or unknown, contact the Migration HelpDesk (MHD) for further assistance before migrating to R430.3.

You must use Tera Term for all terminal emulator needs, including communication withCisco switches. If HyperTerm is installed, discontinue its use and remove it from your system. Note thefollowing: Experion supports Tera Term version 4.82. Tera Term can be installed on any node that is used for configuring the FTE switches. Tera Term is available on the Experion media set and can be installed based on requirement. It is not

If PMD is installed, use PDS Server tool fromStart > All Programs > PMD > Start Or Stop PDS Server and stop the PMD services. Use the Experion PKSStart-Stop Services Control Panel tool to stop all services manually.

To stop the services1 Log on to the server using an account that is part of both the Windows Administrators and Product

Administrators group.AttentionEnsure that you log on with the mentioned required privileges.

2 For systems with licensed QVCS only: Open the QVCS Manager application and complete the requiredQVCS operations (for example: Check in, Check out, revert, and so on). Close the QVCS Managerapplication manually.

3 Perform the following Checkpoint tasks.a Disable all Checkpoint tasks; click Stop for all the scheduled Checkpoint tasks.

AttentionAny currently executing Checkpoint tasks must be complete before continuing. Ensure that all the automaticor manual Checkpoint Save tasks are complete.

b Ensure that the Checkpoint share has replicated correctly to all the Console stations.c To verify the replication of the Checkpoint shares, check the Event Summary Display page on the

Station after the manual/auto Checkpoint Saves are completed for all controllers. If the EventSummary Display page does not display any replication failure event, the replication is successful.

4 Disable all virus scan/protection/backup applications or services. Both the Symantec LiveState Recoveryservice (Experion Backup and Restore) and the DVM Logger service, if present, must be disabled.

AttentionYou must enable the services after completing the procedure.
