The HABC Level 2 International Award in Security Guarding is a qualification developed by Highfield, the Middle East’s leading supplier of compliance-based qualifications. Industry experts have designed the qualification specifically for international learners who wish to become security guards. It has taken into account recognised best practice principles of security guarding. The qualification provides an excellent basis for preparing international learners who may wish to undertake further security-based qualifications and which would also assist them to gain employment with international companies and work as a security guard in Libya.

How long will it take me to achieve this qualification?

The course is 3 days (26 guided learning hours) in duration and is a combination of classroom and practical exercises. It is a rigorous course and all sections of the course must be completed to pass the final exams and receive an Internationally recognised qualification.

How is the qualification assessed? The 3 mandatory units are all assessed through multiple choice examination papers. Unit 1: Working in the Security Industry: 20 question multiple-choice examination which lasts for one hour. A score of at least 14 out of 20 must be reached to pass the unit.

Unit 2: Working as a Security Officer in the Security Industry: 20 question multiple-choice examination which lasts for one hour. A score of 14 out of 20 must be reached to pass the unit.

Unit 3: Working in Conflict Management in the Security Industry: 15 question multiple-choice examination which lasts for 45 minutes. A score of at least 10 out of 15 must be reached to pass the unit.

What next?

On completion of this qualification, learners are qualified to work as a Security Guard and may progress to Security Managers as well as other roles within the security sector, such as a CCTV Operative, Close Protection Operative and Door Supervisor.

Learners may take several other HABC qualifications, such as the Level 2 International Award in CCTV Operations (Public Space Surveillance) and the Level 3 Award in First Aid Response.
