Why energy?• Enegy supply + energy usage + stimulation of innovation activities = challenge for

EU and for ENP countries

• insecurity over energy supplies + growing energy demand + looming climate

change = related societal challenges

• Our aim: to find innovative and sustainable solutions for these problems

directly addressing the gap between energy research and European Industry

(support the commercialisation of research results)

ener2i – project mission:

• Improve knowledge transfer and innovation support in the field of renewable energies (RES) and energy efficiency (EE)

• Stimulate linkages between research and innovation with effective knowledge transfer methods (brokerages, etc.)

• Establish sustainable cooperation between research and innovation actors across EU and ENP countries

• Address EE and RES in the business sector, improving the innovation performance of business in EE/RES

and innovation landscape and on players in EE/RES in the ENP countries (WP2)

• 4 local brokerages in ENP countries (AM, BY, GE, MD), and 4 brokerages in EU countries (WP3)

Expected results – target indicators II.

• 8 innovation training workshops, which are relevant for EE/RES in the ENP countries (WP4)• Staff exchanges/study visits – 24 experts exchanged in the frame of a

twinning scheme (WP4) exchange of good practices among PPs

• 24 innovation vouchers of €4,000 each, (6 vouchers per each EaP country) allocated to start-ups and businesses in the ENP countries as a result of a merit-based competition (WP5)
