• Camps are a great way for teens and young adults to learn how to work together as a team.

• The reason abroad camps do all of this is because they take teens out of their comfort zones and place them into situations that require them to form a team in the midst of adventure.

• To get involved in the Australia/New Zealand River Way Ranch Camp, simply visit http://riverwayranchcamp.com/abroad-programs/.

• From there, go to the “abroad programs” tabs and select the Australia/New Zealand trip.

• On this page you will find more information as well as a way to enroll in the trip.

• To start the camp, everyone must fly 22

hours to Australia. The ticket price is included in the camp fare.

• In Australia, there will be a welcome and

introductory dinner for the campers.

• All of this takes place in Cairns, Australia, which is in the far north of Queensland.

• Over the next few days, the campers will visit places such as the Daintree Rainforest and the Great Barrier Reef.

• The Daintree rainforest is located on the northeast coast of Queensland and is about 1,200 square miles.

• The Great Barrier Reef is a popular snorkeling spot off the coast of Queensland. It’s also the world’s largest coral reef system.

• After the rainforest and barrier reef,

comes the aboriginal school and the Sydney Opera House.

• Campers will be able to visit an aboriginal

school and interact with the students.

• Campers will also tour the Sydney Opera House which is a multi-venue preforming arts center in Sydney, New South Wales.

• The next adventure takes place in the Blue Mountains and in a traditional Sydney school.

• American campers will learn how

school is conducted in Australia and have a chance to share their own school experiences.

• The Blue Mountains are located in New South Wales and stretch for about 4,400 square miles.

• Towards the end of the trip, campers will have the opportunity to tour the Tamaki Maori Village in Rotorua, New Zealand.

• Campers will have a change to learn about Maori culture and their rich history.

• Several days later, campers will also enjoy a team building adventure white water rafting in Taupo, New Zealand
