We are living in a culture entirely hypnotized by the illusion of time, in which the so-called present moment is felt as nothing but an infinitesimal hairline between an all-powerfully causative past and an absorbingly important future. We have no present. Our consciousness is almost completely preoccupied with memory and expectation. We do not realize that there never was, is, nor will be any other experience than present experience. We are therefore out of touch with reality. We confuse the world as talked about, described, and measured with the world which actually is. We are sick with a fascination for the useful tools of names and numbers, of symbols, signs, conceptions and ideas.

Design Concept
Use the creek as a metaphor to establish the connection between nature and everyday life. Capture the movement of existing external elements. Allow the user to become aware of his/her present state of mind.

The Concept
Bridge the edges of the forest and create vertical movement above and down to the creek.
The interlocking of the forest brings together a tight bond that established the exact position in space of the creek. The water as a whole acts a single entity yet by directing nodes of connection to the water, that position in time becomes relevant to the user. Accesible from all directions, views are established and a strong sense of being can resonates with the individual. In turn, a space is created underneath the connection of the forest and above the water of the creek.
As a psycological human need, shelter is established and furthermore the individual may become more aware of his/her senses by feeling this secure and strong bond to the surroundings.

The ArchitectureThe form has the inate desire to emualte the natural surroundings but in order to establish its presence in the landscape, folding plates of concrete grow from the creek edges to create contrasting physical properties of the space.

Folded structures are spatial structures formed by the elements in the plane, different in form and materialization. Folded structures differ in: geometric form, the form of a base over which they are perforated, the manner of performance, methods of forming stiffness, function and position in the building, and the material they are made of.
Different forms can be made by using folded structures. The straight elements forming a folded construction can be of various shapes: rectangular, trapezoidal or triangular. By combining these elements we get different forms resulting in a variety of shapes and remarkable architectural expression
