    Office for the Arts at Harvard Dance Program seekingDance Production & Dance Center Supervisor

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    Oversees and maintains the operations of Harvard Dance Center to ensure the spaces viability, safety, and success as

    Harvards primary undergraduate dance performance and teaching space. Responsibilities include: supervising the technical

    aspects of dance productions including, but not limited to, building sets, hanging and focusing lights; overseeing load-ins,

    technical rehearsals, performances and strikes; maintaining rigging, sound, lighting, and related production equipment; hiring

    production staff and crew as necessary; advising and mentoring students in theater production; training and coordinating

    student crews during performances; working with visiting artists and designers; coordinating and maintaining production

    supplies; maintaining a safe environment for artists, staff, students and audience; attending Office for the Arts at Harvard

    meetings as needed and interfacing with other Office for the Arts technical staff. Oversees all Dance Center building needs,

    serves as liaison between building manager/FAS Physical Resources. Works closely with Dance Director to advance

    program goals. Contributes to the Dance Program by accomplishing related duties as required. This is a part-time, benefits

    eligible position. 12 months/year at 21 hours per week. Salary Grade: 054

    Basic Qualifications:

    3 years of experience in dance stage management, production management and lighting design required. Experience with

    stage rigging; both automated and conventional. Demonstrated proficiency in Macintosh Systems and Microsoft Office, e-

    mail, Filemaker Pro, and CAD software, particularly Vectorworks and Autocad.

    Additional Qualifications:

    BA/BFA preferred or equivalent work experience and training in lieu of degree. The Dance Program provides dynamic

    programming including curricular and co-curricular courses, master class events by internationally renown choreographers;

    Program performances at campus theaters; original dance work will be made for students each academic year. Experience

    working with college undergraduates. Advanced computer and production electronics skills. Basic carpentry skills or related

    experience. Ability to work flexible and extended hours, including some weekends.
