Greetings Everyone!

It gives me immense pleasure to communicate my views and developments at Positive

Packaging through this newsletter.

I am happy to announce the induction and promotion of members from Positive’s core

team, who have worked closely with me, to the Board. Effective the 1st of August 2012,

Mr. Pranesh Kankanwadi will lead the businesses coming under Positive India, South

Africa and U.A.E. as the Group MD. Positive India will be headed by Mr. Anil Kale as the

MD, Mr. Ashok Kamble as Technical Director and Mr. Anil Sadhwani as Director -

Business Development. Mr. Vilas Dighe, well-known to the packaging fraternity, has

joined as an Independent Director. I am confident the new Board will ensure Positive to

be the distinguished leader in flexible packaging.

I also want to share with you that the Positive Family is grieved by the sad demise of our

Independent Director, Mr. Ajit Chakrabarti. Ajit, a near and dear member of the Positive

Family, was associated from inception and was a key contributor to product

developments. We pray to God to give his family the courage to bear this loss and may

his soul rest in peace.

The Positive pursuit for growth continues with the acquisition of ICM Packaging. This

acquisition has infused versatility to our product portfolio with more options for multiple

barrier grade flexible packaging and flexo printing. As a forerunner in implementing new

technology, we are proud to announce another 1st in India - the installation of the K500

G3 Twain Engraver at our cylinder engraving division, Acuprint Systems.

Positive announces a major step in its efforts towards environmental sustainability with

the opening of its renewable energy division, RenewSys™. Renewsys manufactures

EVA Encapsulant sheets for Photovoltaic Modules. Furthering our pursuit of a greener

tomorrow, the other conservation projects include significant investment in upgrading

to fully automated viscosity control systems and energy saving by hot air re-circulation

technology, along with supplementary initiatives like LED lighting and tree plantations.

In the current business environment, India is confronted with social, economic and

political challenges. The global economy is hit by the deep Eurozone crisis, currency

fluctuations and uncertain socio-political climate in Middle

East and Africa. We are not only surviving but also

growing in this dynamic environment - with Positive

developments that sum up our Company.

Positively Yours!

Positive Technology for a Green Future

Message from the Vice Chairman

2

In April 2012, Positive Packaging announced the acquisition of

Indian flexible packaging manufacturer - ICM Packaging Pvt. Ltd.

Strategically located at MIDC Ambernath, the factory houses

state-of-the-art machinery with capabilities to manufacture

multilayer barrier printed/unprinted PE/PA films, laminates &

Positive Packaging is committed to adopt and invest in

the latest technology that helps improve efficiency and

reduce waste. In line with this, we have adopted two new

technologies in our flexibles division to save on solvent, ink

and fuel consumption.

Fully automated ink viscosity and temperature

control system:

The ink viscosity and temperature control system from NCE

Switzerland has been adopted on all our printing machinery.

This technology will automate the ink & solvent mixing process

and maintain the ink temperature. It will also provide

automatic centralized white ink dispensing to all the machines.

The end result is reduced wastage of ink & solvent along with

an overall improvement in quality.

Hot air re-circulation technology for printing and

lamination machines:

The hot air re-circulation technology from NIRA Italy for our

printing & laminating machines is a IR sensor based system

that monitors the solvent concentration and recycles the hot air

required by the machines. We are thus saving heat energy and

in turn reducing fuel consumption.

Acuprint installs the

Twain EngraverK500 G3The most successful engraver installed for the 1st time in the Indian subcontinent.

Acuprint Systems has always been a leader in identifying and

implementing new technology in the Indian market. It recently

installed India’s first two-channel K500 G3 Twain engraver equipped

with HelioSprint BC broadband engraving system. The K500 G3

Twain engraver operates with two engraving heads on one machine.

The machine automatically decides and splits the area to be

engraved into two parts and does independently synchronised

engraving. On an average, the Twain multi-head engraver raises

productivity by 60% as compared to the existing single head

engravers.

Positive Packaging acquires ICM Packaging

pouches for packaging consumers. The installed capacity of the unit

is 6600 tons per annum.

Explaining the strategic takeover, Mr. Kale – MD of Positive

Packaging India says, “We had a clear need to expand capacity and

add flexographic capability to our portfolio. ICM Packaging

is the perfect match - offering the latest technology and

modern infrastructure. Being a close neighbour to our CPP film

manufacturing division – Vista Film Packaging, it adds operational

& logistical benefits.”

Equipment:

• Two 7 layer blown film lines: Reifenhauser Kiefel, Germany |
