Simple selection...
Use only one cylinder assembly for a single protected area. For large spaces, enquireabout an engineered system.
Ensure the discharge nozzle rating is suitable for the space being protected. (The highesttemperature expected in the space plus approximately 50 F (28 C).
Locate the unit high on a wall, with the discharge nozzle 4 to 12 inches (102 to 305 mm) fromthe ceiling. Installation in the corner of the room keeps the extinguisher out of the way.
Install the extinguisher so that the pressure gauge is easily seen for maintenance.
Do not install cylinder close to any high-heat source such as space heaters.
Ensure there is nothing in front of the discharge nozzle that would interfere with agentdischarge and disbursement.
For small units. An arrow on the cylinder indicates possible vertical and horizontal ori-entations. Loosely mount cylinder mounting straps onto a solid structural member, slidecylinder in between the straps, then tighten the mounting bolts.
Large units must be mount-ed vertically. Bolt the bracketonto a solid structural mem-
ber, then install cylinder tothe bracket.
The nozzle must dischargehorizontally, and preferablytowards the main hazardin the space or towards thecentre of the space beingprotected.
Never install an extinguisherupside down.
On-boardpressure gaugefor addedconfidence.
Integrated heat detectorreacts instantly to fireconditions.
Accessory connectionsfor pressure switch, discharge indicator, ormanual operation.
NAF-SIII clean agentprovides powerful,effective fireprotection.
