Extracurricular Activities in School Session on Health and Hygiene On the chilly morning of 11 January 2019, a very informative session was conducted by Dr. Ujwala Upadhaya from ABHCC on Health and Hygiene where she informed children regarding healthy habits. She started the session by asking students to keep on moving their toes and fingers while standing, so that they don’t feel dizzy because standing continuously may result in abnormal blood pressure regulationhence, movement is necessary. She instructed them to wash their hands properly before and after every meal and articulated the do’s and dont’s of a healthy lifestyle.Additionally, children were informedabout practicing healthy food habits to fight diseases and build a strong immune system. Next in line, she conducted a session for the girls of Std V to XII on Menstrual Cycles. She cleared all the myths and superstitions of the layman regarding the menstrual cycles. This fruitful session came to an end with a vote of thanks by school Principal Ms. Priyadarshini Chauhan. Extracurricular Activities in School

Session on Health and Hygiene

On the chilly morning of 11 January 2019, a very informative session was conducted by Dr. Ujwala Upadhaya from ABHCC on Health and Hygiene where she informed children regarding healthy habits. She started the session by asking students to keep on moving their toes and fingers while standing, so that they don’t feel dizzy because standing continuously may result in abnormal blood pressure regulationhence, movement is necessary. Next in line, she conducted a session for the girls of Std – V to XII on Menstrual Cycles. She cleared all the myths and

superstitions of the layman regarding the menstrual cycles.

This fruitful session came to an end with a vote of thanks by

school Principal Ms. Priyadarshini Chauhan.

Annual Health Checkup

Keeping in mind that ‘Health is wealth’, a yearly health checkup was conducted for students. The students were checked by the medical staff of Aditya Birla Health Care Center. The overall checkup was done, where the focus was on ENT checkup. Even their height and weight was measured. The health cards of the students were shown to the parents on the day of PTM.

Vaccination

Under government campaign of eliminating Measles and Rubella, all students up to 15 years of age were vaccinated in

school. The vaccination program started on July 29, 2019.

House Meeting

Meeting for the students of houses Jodhana, Marwar, Mewar and Shekhawati was conducted on 6 April, 2019. The House Masters, House Teachers, Prefects of each house interacted with the students and discussed the criteria of selection for participation in different house activities. They also motivated the students to participate in various activities and

competitions during the academic session.

Special Assembly: Baisakhi Celebration

The harvest festival Baisakhi was celebrated in Special assembly on 12 April, 2019 with great enthusiasm and zeal. Students presented articles in English as well as in Hindi to explain the importance of the festival. A folk dance was also

presented by the students of classes III, IV and V.

Inter House Competitions

Picture Colouring: All students of class I and II participated in Picture Colouring competition. The theme for the competition was ‘Cartoon Characters.’ The students beautifully coloured the picture given to them and showcased their creativity to make the event successful. The drawings of the students were displayed and their effort was appreciated

by all.

Hindi Skit

The theme for the competition was ‘Paryawaran Bachao.’ Students of class III-V presented a beautiful skit and gave the message to save environment. The effective dialogue delivery, costume and usage of various props was liked a lot by the

judges and teachers.

English Elocution

The students of class VI-VIII participated in English Elocution competition. There were three students from each house. The participants presented their ideas with confidence

and made the event successful.

Kho-Kho and Basketball

For class IX-XI, Kho-Kho for girls and basketball for boys was conducted. All the matches were interesting. Students played with true sportsmanship and gave tough competition to

the opponents.

Inter House Competitions

English Poetry Recitation: 4 students from each house of class I and II participated in Poetry Recitation competition. Students presented their poems happily with proper actions and expressions. All the performances were liked by the other students and teachers. The best performances were presented

in the school assembly also.

Kho-Kho

The students of class III-V participated in Inter House Kho-Kho Competition. All the four houses had a team of 11 members including both boys and girls. All the matches were

interesting as the students played with great confidence.

Basketball

The basketball matches were conducted for the boys team of all the four houses. The winning team was congratulated by

the Principal and teachers.

One Act Play

One Act Play Competition was organized for the students of class IX-XII. All the four houses of the school presented English One Act Play with thought provoking messages. The theme given to them was ‘Moral Values.’ The acting skills of

the students generated a thunderous applause from the audience.

Inter House Competitions

Show and Tell- Inter house ‘Show and Tell’ competition was conducted for the students of class I and II. The theme given was ‘Nature’. Students made beautiful cut outs of different things like rainbow, butterfly, sun, flowers etc and described them with confidence. The presentation of the little ones was

liked and appreciated by all.

Chess and Carrom

The students of class III-V participated in Chess and Carrom

competition. All the players performed their best.

Picture Colouring

The students of class III-V participated in colouring competition. The students enjoyed participating in this

competition and coloured the picture beautifully.

Throwball

The girls of class VI- VIII participated in Inter House Throwball competition. All the four teams participated with great enthusiasm in this competition.

Quiz

The students of class IX-XII participated in Inter House Quiz Competition. There were four teams of four different houses. Each team had four participants. There were different rounds- Multiple Choice, Picture Identification and Rapid Fire. The questions were asked from various subjects like English, Mathematics, Science, General Knowledge and Computer. It was an interesting competition for the participants as well as

for the audience.

Pencil Scrap Painting- All students of class I and II participated in Pencil Scrap Painting Competition. The objective of this competition is to teach students to turn waste into a useful product. Students pasted pencil scraps with dedication and made beautiful pictures. Their creativity was

liked by all.

DictionaryReading

The purpose of this competition was to inculcate the habit of using dictionary among the students of class III-V. There were four teams and all the teams tried their best to do well. It

was a good learning experience for all.

Table Tennis

The girls of class VI-VIII participated in Table Tennis competition. It was an interesting competition. The winners of

this competition played in CBSE cluster.

Kho-Kho

The boys of class VI- VIII participated in Inter House Kho-Kho competition. All the four teams participated with great

enthusiasm in this competition.

PPT Making

Students of class IX-XII participated in PPT Making competition. There were four teams having four members each. The topic of the presentation was ‘Solar Energy and its uses.’ The students made the presentation within the stimulated time with proper animation and formatting. It was

a good learning experience for them.

Essay Writing(Hindi)

To enhance the writing skills of the students of class IX-XII, Essay writing competition was conducted. Students were asked to write essay in 250-300 words on the given topic.

Dog and the Bone

An interesting outdoor activity was conducted for the students of class I and II. All the four houses had a team of 12 members including both boys and girls. The little ones

actively participated and gave a tough fight to the opponent.

Hindi Speech

The students of class III-V participated in Hindi Speech Competition. The students presented their views on the given topic fluently. Most of the students performed well and their oratory skills were appreciated by the audience. The best

speakers also presented their speech in the school assembly.

Maandana Art

The students of class VI-VIII participated in Maandana Art Competition. There were 12 participants, 3 from each house who show cased their talents and made beautiful maandanas.

Quiz

The students of class VI-VIII participated in Inter House Quiz Competition. There were four teams of four different houses. Each team had three participants. There were different rounds- Multiple Choice, Picture Identification and Rapid Fire. The questions were from English, Mathematics, Science, General Knowledge and Computer. It was an interesting competition

for the participants as well as for the audience.

Football

Investiture Ceremony

Investiture Ceremony was held to appoint new Student Council Body. The Principal and Headmistress gave badges to the members of Prefectorial Body. Later the school Principal Ms. Priyadarshini Chauhan administered the oath and

congratulated the new leaders of the school.

Tug o’ War

Another team event Tug o’ War was conducted for the students of class I and II. It was good to see the little ones laughing and actively participating in the game.

Election Process

Today’s students are the next generation voters. The objective of this activity was to teach students about the value of democracy. The students of class III-V participated in this activity. They prepared different things in advance like Voter ID cards, party symbols ballot boxes etc. The students cast

their vote and understood the power of vote.

Essay Writing (Hindi)

To enhance the writing skills of the students of class VI-VIII, Essay writing competition was conducted. Students were

asked to write essay in 200-250 words on the given topic.

English Debate

The students of class IX-XII participated in Inter House English Debate Competition. The senior boys and girls of all the four houses participated in this competition. The topic was ‘The flight of men is the plight of nature.’ They expressed their views with confidence both in favour and against the

motion. It was an interesting competition.

73rd Independence Day was celebrated with great pomp and show. The school ground was decorated beautifully. The tricolor was unfurled by the Chief Guest along with the National Anthem sung by the school choir. The academic achievers of Class X and XII were awarded with the appreciation certificates and prize money by the Chief

Guest.

Inter House Competitions-

Carrom

Inter House Carrom Competition was conducted for the students of class I and II. Four students from each house

participated and tried their best to win the game.

Throwball

The students of class III-V participated in Inter House Throwball Competition. All the four houses had a team of 11 members including both boys and girls. All the matches were

really interesting as the players played with great confidence.

Greeting Card Making

The students of class VI-VIII participated in Inter House Greeting Card Making Competition. The students had to make greeting card giving best wishes for any festival using different material. They displayed their creativity by making beautiful cards. These best work was displayed on the school

soft board.

Basketball

The four teams of the four houses participated in Inter House Basketball competition. The competition was very interesting

as each house gave a tough fight to their opponent.

Grand Parents Day

To strengthen the bond between children and their Grand Parents, the school celebrated Grand Parents Day on 31 August, 2019. The students of class I- V, performed different cultural programs for their Grand Parents. They welcomed them in a traditional way. The students of class I and II presented solo dance while students of class III-V presented group songs. Some games were also organized for the Grand Parents and they shared some mesmerizing moments thanking the school for organizing the event.

Solo Dance

The students of class I and II participated in Inter House Solo Dance competition. There were eight participants in all who danced gracefully on devotional songs and mesmerized the audience. The Principal, judges, teachers and Grand Parents liked their performance very much.

Group Song

The students of class III-V participated in Inter House Group Song Competition with great enthusiasm. There were 12 participants from each house who sang patriotic songs. The costume, choice of song, coordination and presentation was

liked by everyone.

Inter House Competition-

Best Out of Waste

The students of class VI-VIII participated in Best Out of Waste Competition. The students showcased their talent and made beautiful things using waste material like newspaper, bottles, ice cream sticks, CD’s etc. This competition brought awareness among the students to use the resources properly and never waste them.

Football

The boys of class VI-VIII participated in Inter House Football Competition. All the four teams participated with great enthusiasm in this competition. The winners and the

participants were congratulated by the teachers.

Essay Writing

The students of class IX-XII participated in Essay Writing Competition. It was a good learning experience for them.

Teacher’s Day Celebration

There was an unusual excitement in the school atmosphere which was quite contagious. It was the instance of Teachers’ Day, the auspicious occasion of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan’s birthday. The students of classes XI & XII took over the duties of the teachers for the day. A special morning assembly was conducted where the principal and teachers were invited to commence the program by lighting the lamp and by paying florid acclaim to Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. The students paid homage to their teachers through poems and speeches. They beautifully decorated the Auditorium and welcomed the teachers by presenting handcrafted cards to them as a token of gratitude. They also organised a cultural function. The attraction of the program was a play from the life story of Helen Keller and her teacher Anne Sullivan. In the afternoon the H.R. Department addressed the entire fraternity and lauded the entire staff for their exemplary contribution to the school’s phenomenal

success. It was a joyous and an indelible day for all.

Hindi Diwas-

Poetry Recitation – Grades I to V

Hindi Diwas was celebrated on September 7 to pay glorification to the official language of India. Hindi was adopted as the official language of Constituent assembly on September 14, 1949. A special assembly was conducted to mark the occasion. The assembly started with news and thought in Hindi followed by a talk on the importance of Hindi language. Later Hindi Poetry Recitation competition was conducted with a motto to imbibe the significance of language and to instil regard for languages.

Volley Ball – Grade XI to XII

The boys’ team of XI to XII participated enthusiastically in Inter House Volley Ball Competition. All the four teams

participated with great zeal and the first position was bagged by Marwar house.

Gandhi Jayanti and Shastri Jayanti Celebration

A special assembly was conducted to commemorate the birthday of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, a pioneer of truth and non – violence and Lal Bhadur Shastri, who served as the second Prime Minister of India and promoted the white revolution. The programme began by paying a floral tribute to the eminent personalities of India. The students presented thought, news, speech and poem on ‚Science without religion is lame‛

Fancy Dress

Fancy Dress for the students of Grade I and II was conducted on the theme of ‚Agriculture‛. The students were dressed in varied creative ways. It was really magnificent to see the students dressed in lovely techniques.

English Speech

English Speech was conducted for the students of Grade III to V, where the students participated enthusiastically and came up with wonderful pieces of writing.

Poster Making

To bring out the creative expression of the students and also to gauge their awareness quotient, Poster making of eminent personalities was conducted for the students of Grade VI to VIII whereas Collage Making and Magazine Cover Page Designing was conducted for the students of Grade XI to XII. The students displayed their artistic skills through an array of posters and collages on the given topics. The aim of this competition was not merely to see the creative aspect but also to trigger the thought process of the children and sensitize them.

Last but not the least the students participated in the Cleanliness Drive to create awareness about ‚Cleanliness and Hygiene‛ in their surroundings.

Children’s Day and Alumni Meet – Birth Anniversary of Shri Aditya Vikram Birla Ji

A special assembly was conducted to commemorate the birth anniversary of Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru with enthusiasm and zeal, keeping in mind his words, ‚I may not have time for adults, but have enough time for children‛. Celebrations began by paying a floral tribute to the great personalities followed with a prayer service conducted by teachers and special speech was delivered on Shri Aditya Vikram Birla Ji, a great visionary and industrialist who worked for the welfare of the society.

A duet dance competition was conducted for the students of Grade VI to VIII. The students presented amazing choreographed pieces on folk music and enthralled the audience. A Solo Song competition was also conducted for the students of Grade IX to XII. The students resonated with spirited rhythm and songs, setting an electrifying ambience

Alumni meet

Alumni meet was conducted with great joy and enthusiasm. The event commenced with a welcome song and lamp lighting. A short cultural program was presented by the students in front of the alumni who shared their experiences and motivated the students.

Annual Day Celebrations

Annual Day forms an integral part of our school activities. It is an occasion of celebration, felicitation, feast and festivity where students present not only their wonderful performances but also receive honours for their curricular achievements.

The Annual Day was woven around the theme ‚NAVRAS – THE NINE EMOTIONS‛. Mr Sukharam Pindel SDM, Bhopalgarh graced the occasion as the Chief Guest for the programme. The programme commenced with the auspicious lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the distinguished assembly of guests. The school Principal, Mrs Priyadarshini Chauhan extended presented the Annual Report and read out the achievements of the school – both Academic and Co-curricular and wished success to the students who could not make up for the prizes. The Chief Guest gave away the prizes

to all the prize winners; which was a moment of pride and honour for all of them. It was followed by the cultural programme, ‚NAVRAS – THE NINE EMOTIONS‛ which recounted the tale of the advent of nine ‘ras’. The students presented the scintillating performances. The grandeur of the Finale left the audience enthralled. The vote of thanks to the revered assembly of guests was proposed by the Headmistress Ms. Arshiya Rehman.

Human Rights Day

A special assembly was conducted on the occasion of Human Rights Day to honour the United Nations General Assembly’s adoption and proclamation of the UDHR, The first global enunciation on Human Rights. The students presented news, thoughts and speech on the topic to spread awareness.

Christmas Celebration

Christmas is the festival which inspires the spirit of sharing and caring. Soaking in the spirit of Christmas tiny tots of K.G. section celebrated the festival with enthusiasm on 23 December 2019. The students sang melodious carols and depicted the birth of Lord Jesus Christ. The significance of the festival was explained to the students through the Christmas story. One of the students was dressed as Santa Claus and distributed chocolates among the students.

Inter House Competitions

The students of Grade VI to VIII participated in Hindi Elocution competition. The objective of this competition wasto train the students to face audience with confidence and recite their pieces with correct diction, clarity and good pronunciation. It was a pleasure to watch our smart children delivering their write-ups with such expression and conviction.

Mock Parliament

The students of Grade XI to XI participatedin the Mock Parliament. The event was organized to check the debating skills of students as well as their knowledge of the current issues concerning the nation. The students enjoyed the activity and it was a great learning experience for them.

Indian Army Day

A special assembly was conducted on the occasion of Indian Army Day with fervour and pride. The students presented news, thought and speech dedicated to Indian Army and paid tribute to our brave soldiers.

Inter House Competitions

It was yet another day full of fun, energy, enjoyment, and sportsman spirit for the students of Grade I and II. We had the inter-house dodge ball competition on Friday, 17 January. The competition was held in open air- in the ground. The weather was just perfect and children had a great time.

Quiz - ‚Learning gives Creativity, Creativity leads to thinking, Thinking provides knowledge, Knowledge makes us grea.‛ Quiz competitions are always interesting and informative, which provide excitement among the studentsand also make them aware of current affairs. Keeping this in mind a quiz competition was held where all the teams were well prepared and the competition was very tough. The students surprised the audience with their in-depth knowledge; all the students were appreciated by the teachers and the Principal for their efforts.

Republic Day

On the auspicious morning of 26th January, our school celebrated Republic Day in the school ground. It was a matter of great pride for all of us. Needless to say, the whole school had worn the appearance of a beautiful bride. The Principal, teachers and the students did not leave any stone unturned in making this monumental day a memorable one.

The day commenced with the unfurling of the national flag by our honourable guest. After that everybody stood straight for National Anthem sung by the students. Then there were parades by the students of all the four houses of the school. After this, students presented cultural items. These cultural items included patriotic songs, folk dances and speeches. We enjoyed Republic Day with great enthusiasm.

The annual sports function of our school was held on 27January in our school ground. On that day, the atmosphere of the school took a festive look. A great interest was observed among the students and the guardians. All of them came in a large number to enjoy the sports program. The guests arrived at 9.30 am and with the oath taking ceremony, he declared the meet open. The sports meet opened with a March Past by all the four houses of school. The students were lined up. There were several sports events such as 100 meter race, 200 meter race, relay race etc. The guests were highly pleased by our performance. They encouraged us to take part in sports and games. The winners were awarded prizes by the chief guest and the other dignitaries simultaneously. The prize winners were very happy for getting the prizes. The meet came to an end by the closing ceremony of the sports day followed by the National Anthem.

Vasant Panchmi Celebration

‚Vasant Panchmi‛ is an occasion which marks the advent of Spring season and is also celebrated to worship Saraswati, the Goddess of knowledge and wisdom. This day was celebrated in our school with great fervour and enthusiasm. Yellow colour – representative of spiritual knowledge, is given importance on vasant panchmi. The whole school assembled together to pray and attain blessings from Goddess Saraswati to reach the epitome of knowledge. The pooja started with a beautiful Saraswati vandana and after that Prasad was distributed among the children. The children enjoyed the day, enlightened by the blessings of Maa Saraswati.

January 30, 2020: Martyr’s Day

The day was observed by a Special Assembly to mark the occasion of Martyrs Day by the students of ABPS Kharia Khanger. In India Martyrs’ Day is observed on January 30th, the death anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi- The father of the Nation. The day is observed in the memory of those who gave their lives in the struggle for India’s Freedom. Martyrs’ Day is also a day to salute the martyrdom of soldiers who lost their lives defending the sovereignty of the nation. Assembly started by paying homage to Mahatma Gandhi followed by his favourite prayer song ‘Raghupati Raghav

Raja Ram’ followed by news, thought and speech. The students also paid a 2 minute silent tribute for the Father of the Nation. These efforts would go a long way in shaping their character and future and kindle the spirit of Pride and Gallantry among them.

Annual Prize Giving Day

Annual Prize Distribution Function was organized in our school, in order to make this event successful, a lot of preparations were made by students and teachers. The successful students in various fields such as Sports, Education, and Cultural Programs had to be honoured in the function. The Special Guests arrived on time. Our Principal nd some members of school welcomed them with bouquet of flowers and welcome speech by the Principal. The Function began with a Welcome Song. Immediately after that the Prize Distribution took place. The Guests distributed the prizes to the winners of the various fields. They also delivered a very motivating speech. They advised all the students to work harder in life to get sure success. Even few poems were recited by the students to motivate the prize winners. All the prize winners were appreciated with loud cheers. The function ended with the National Anthem.

Wall Magazines and Classroom Soft Boards

The main objective behind the monthly upgradation of theWall Magazines and Classroom Soft Boards is to make the students aware about the current affairs and indepth knowledge of a particular topic. They also help them to

enhance their acquaintances.
