Extruded boss/base

To start using this tool you must draw a 2D

This tool is used to make shapes that you choose 3D

Start a new sketch on a plane or an existing surface

Draw a 2D shape that follows the rules of a

The select the extruded boss/base to extrude your shape into a 3D shape

You can also choose how much you want to extrude by sliding it with you mouse or entering in the length you would like

Select one of the check marks and you will have you finished product

Another option for extruded base is the “ up to vertex” which allows you to extrude a shape up to the vertex of another shape.

This will extrude off of one shape up the vertex of another

The shape has been extrude up the vertex of your choice

Select one of the check marks and you will have you finished product

You can also extrude off another surface

Fist double click the pace bar. Chose normal to which ever surface you would like to extrude off of. should come facing you flat

Then draw the shape you would like to extrude

Then draw it on the surface

You can choose how big you want your extrude to be both here and here

Extruded cut Feature

The extruded cut button is used to cut through 3D shapes

First you need a solid 3D shape

Once you have your solid 3D shape draw the shape you would like to extrude through the 3D shape on the surface you want to cut through

After you have drawn the shape click on it so it turns blue and the select the extrude button

You have many different options when your choosing to extrude

The blind options is how ever far you chose to extrude it

Through all is when the extrude will go all the way through you shape

The blind option allows you enter in a depth that you choose

or slide the cut through your shape

For the through all option you do the same steps in drawing the shape you want to cut but you select the through all option which will go all the way through the 3D shape

The up to next feature. You draw the 3Dshape you want to cut through, then draw the shape you want to cut through it on the side, the up to next feature will cut from where you draw the shape to the surface that you choose for it to cut to

The yellow circle is where it is going to cut too. This will put a hole through the entire 3D shape

The pink line is where it is going to cut up to

The up to next option cuts the hole through the shape from the surface you choose to the other surface you choose

The up to vertex feature. Will cut from where you draw your sketch to a vertex of your choice

To strat ou do the same in the way you draw a sketch on the 3D shape

Then select your sketch and choose the extruded cut option

Then the up to vertex option

The vertex you select it to cut too will turn pink

Select one of the check marks and you will have you finished product Finished product
