Project Eye In The Sky (skI)

The “Eye In The Sky” project (skI) aims to provide a unified remote control system, which shall enable a single person to have a significant control over any location, without distance limitations. In layman terms, the project shall allow a person an experience as close as possible to “being in two places at the same time”.

Page 4: Eye

How does it work ?

Whenever a system sensor picks up an event, it is transmitted to a local PC.

The local PC transmits an event notification to the skI Main Control Center via the internet.

The Main Control Center processes the signal, and sends an appropriate notification to the user.

Page 5: Eye

How does it work ? (cont.)

The user receives the alert on his/her cellular phone / remote PC.

The user transmits commands to the Main Control Center in reaction to the notification.

The user’s commands are transmitted back to the local PC.

The user PC transmits these commands to a group of devices, which perform the required tasks

Using the skI

The abilities supported by the skI platform are innumerous.

The application, to be developed at phase I: The Gate Keeper

A front door C&C system, providing real time alerts whenever someone is at the door, as well as visual and vocal live connection.

Main Issues

UsabilityTo show the use of the skI project services provides a significant improvement to our lifestyle and resource management (in contradiction to a ”neat gizmo”).

InteroperabilityTo show that any relevant technology features could be supported by the skI platform, and most near future technologies as well.

Cost EffectiveTo show how mass production of skI systems could be done in reasonable costs.

Web – Mobile Design Concept

The product is supposed to deliver fast and reliable data to service subscribers via various types of devices (cell phones, pda’s, web browsers etc) from various locales and vice-versa (from the subscribers to various locales).

the design guidelines are:          High Availability (Anywhere Any time)          Platform Flexibility          Multi device types for the same user

Additional Sensors and Devices

Although the skI platform provides an interface, which can interact with any sensor or device with external input port, the ones most likely to be added already in phase I are:

heat sensors (against accidental fire, etc.) light sensors weight sensor

Page 21: Eye

.NET (Not yet)

The skI platform could easily interact and use services and protocols such as the .NET MS Web Services (In particular the alarm service).

General Business Data

Target Audience: – Mass Market (cell-phone users), SME at phase I.– Corporate Market at Phase II.

Approximate Prices:– $150-300 for basic applications– $300-800 for advanced apps.

The Business case

The target customers of the skI application are cellular operators.

The Gate Keeper, for instance, provides large revenues on both data and voice services.

Furthermore, the revenue stream is increasing along time (as more applications shall hit the market, and existing application shall cost less).

Page 24: Eye

The Advantage in Proposition

The consumer (a cellular operator subscriber) shall enjoy low installation and registration fees, as the operator shall have much motivation to bring the subscriber into the skI application user circle (promising a future revenue stream, as well as binding to operator).
