We are in the final year of a three year plan to develop an International Night Jump Festival on the banks of the Swan River on the Burswood Foreshore.Over the last two years, the Perth Night Jump has showcased over 20 of the world’s best male and female Ski Flyer’s from the USA, Australia, Spain, Russia, Canada, Belarus, Great Britain, France, Denmark and Chile. Among these competitors were the current World Number 1 and World Record Holder female and male Ski Flyers Natallia Berdnikava (BLR) and Freddy Krueger (USA).

The event also showcased a Wakeboard and Slalom competition which displayed Western Australia’s best riders and skiers who are among the top in Australia of their respective divisions. We also had a fantastic display of skills from our WA Show Ski Team who are the current Australian National Champions.

The Perth Night Jump in 2011 and 2012 were seen by 5000+ spectators who were not disappointed of the display on offer. This year we hope to continue our success by increasing the number of spectators watching the event at the venue and worldwide.

The 2011 Perth Night Jump was streamed live all over the world via webcast and had media attention through channel 10 news, The West Australian, ABC radio and Nova FM. This year we hope to secure another webcast and reach even more people through local media so we can attract 10,000+ spectators world-wide for Perth Night Jump 2013.

The Sport

Ski Flying is the most exciting discipline in waterskiing. In competition water skiing, each competitor has three attempts at the jump ramp and the best distance from those attempts becomes their score, and the skier with the longest distance is determined the winner, there are no points for style or form.

The Heirisson Island Tournament Waterski Club (HIT Club) is hosting an International Night Jump competition on the 23rd March 2013 at the Burswood Water Sports Complex where the world’s best Ski Flyers will travel to Perth for a share of the $35,000 prize money on offer to showcase what this sport has to offer to the public, in the dark!

Night jumping is a relatively new addition to the sport which has proven to be a huge success in the UK and US and now in Australia thanks to the Perth Night Jump. Night jumping adds a new dimension for the skiers which makes it more dangerous and more adrenaline stimulating but more importantly it creates a bigger and better atmosphere to spectators which becomes more appealing to come and watch as well as being a more family friendly event.

To measure the jump distances the HIT Club will use a relatively new jump measuring system which will use a camera to determine the distance jumped by a skier and project it onto a scoreboard within seconds for the crowd to see.

The Perth Night Jump will play host to some of the worlds best female and male ski flyers, including world champions Natallia Berdnikava (BLR) and Freddy Krueger (USA); as well as Australia’s best Ski Flyers, Moomba Masters Champion Jacinta Carroll (AUS) and World Championship silver medallist Timothy Bradstreet (AUS).

The big event on the Saturday Night will also include supporting acts from the Western Australian Show Ski Team, WestOz Wakeboarding and WA Slalom skiing to warm up the crowd before the final for the jump event.

This sponsor will have a seat in the boat for the jump finals. The boat will be on display all night as well as racing up and down the mighty Swan River for the championship round, and can be doing so with your company logo on it!

The blue ribbon event for tournament waterskiing will also be on display during the Perth Night Jump 2012. This event will showcase the best talent WA has to offer including national champions and Australian representatives. By being the title sponsor a representative from your company will have an opportunity to present the awards to the finalists on the night. With a more spectator friendly format, this highly popular event can be yours!

Not only did we have a live crowd of 1000+ people in the first Perth Night Jump, we also had thousands more watching the event live via webcast in Australia and all over the world. By owning the rights to the webcast, your company name will have a permanent on-screen presence on the web as well as constant recognition from the Webcast provider during the event. No sponsor, no webcast.

With 30 jumps to be posted throughout the night the crowd and the webcast cameras will be glued to the SplashEye scoreboard to see how far the skier has jumped. By sponsoring the scoreboard, those eyes will also be glued to your brand name

The WA Show Ski team, who are the current Australian Champions, will be on show during the Perth Night Jump which will exhibit amazing and spectacular stunts and skills to wow the crowd.

The relatively new and highly popular sport on the water will be the opening event for the Perth Night Jump 2012. By being the title sponsor a representative from your company will have an opportunity to present the awards to the finalists on the night.
