    The 6th

  • A slimmed-down ve

    sons which are expl

    ained later. Neverth

    I hope you’ll find som

    ething of interest to

    discover and exper

    ience.

    Festivals are not ju

    st about putting on

    a programme of eve

nts – it’s just as imp

    ortant

    to work with partne

    rs and venues to hig

    hlight what they pro

    duce of an artistic n

    ature

    both within the fest

    ival period and out o

    f it. This brochure w

    ill be read by more

    people than would p

    ick-up a single even

    t leaflet and it’ll be

    distributed more wi

    dely

too. At the end of th

    e day WemsFest, and

    our partners, are k

    een to promote a

    healthy interest in e

    ncouraging you to te

    ar yourself away fro

    m the computer or

    television and ventu

    re out to sample and

    , we hope, enjoy som

    ething which has be

    en

    created with love an

    d devotion. It may b

    e challenging, it mig

    ht be something you

    wouldn’t normally co

    ntemplate, but in m

    ost cases it will be

    almost on your door

    step!

    This year’s program

me is not as full, in

    terms of content, as

    it would normally b

    e

    and this is largely du

    e to the enforced abs

    ence, due to illness

    , of theatre director

    Julian Sluggett who

A genre-busting husband-wife duowho continue to make musical waves andare the first act in history to achieve accolades at theBritish Blues Awards and the British Country Music Awards, plus thedistinction of finalists in the Folk category for the UK Songwriting Awards.

Their current album, Behind The Wheel was nominated Album of the Year atthe International Acoustic Music Awards and voted Folk/Roots Album of theYear in several polls.Having no tie to any particular genre means that the Red Dirt Skinners sound isinstantly recognisable. With male and female harmonies blending together asone voice and Sarah’s trademark soprano saxophone solos, you will be sweptalong by the refreshingly different approach to an evening of music making.

Five critically acclaimed albums to the good, The BBC described the Red DirtSkinners as “taking the music scene by storm.” They have a natural rapportwith their audiences and their live shows are a wonderful experience; a musicaljourney to remember. Be prepared for laugh out loud lyrics, followed by songssure to pull at your heartstrings. Rob and Sarah Skinner will steal your hearts.
