While mobile crushing plants arebuilt ready-mounted on theirown travel gear, semi-mobileplants are moved from one loca-tion to the next as piggybackload on separate haul units.Each crushing plant comesready to operate with its ownfeed hopper, feed conveyor,discharge conveyor and materialtransfer belt. The size anddesign of the crusher naturallydepend on the work that it isintended for. Even plants withthe largest gyratory or jaw crushers can reach availabilitiesin excess of 90 % and that in the hardest of rocks, while at the same time cutting back theinner-pit transport costs by 50 % and more.

Semi-mobile crushing plants arealways to be recommendedwhen they are relocated at longintervals only. This is especiallythe case in large and deepopen-pit mines where overburden and minerals arebeing extracted at several pointssimultaneously.

To keep piggyback loads as lowas possible, the largest semi-mobile plants are designed inindividual modules for fast andeasy movement.

Gyratory crushers are real state-of-the-art technology andhave been designed for highthroughputs and economicaloperation. 11Hammer crushers, hammer mills

Crushers of ThyssenKrupp Fördertechnikwere developed for the crushingof coarse, medium-hard rawmaterials for the cement-, gypsum- and limestone industries. They are available asimpact crushers, single-shafthammer crushers and TITANdouble-shaft hammer crushers. These state-of-the-art machinesare extremely compact, robust,efficient and easily serviced.They can be fed with large,bulky material and produce aclearly defined final grain size.

Impact crushers, single-shafthammer crushers and TITAN double-shaft hammercrushers achieve throughputs of more than 2000 t/h. The latter are particularly suitedto the comminution of wet andsticky materials.

Hammer mills of ThyssenKrupp Fördertechnikwere especially conceived forthe fine reduction, grinding,homogenization, fiberizing andselective crushing of naturaland industrial products. The process can be combinedwith drying.

ThyssenKrupp Fördertechnikimpact crushers have beendesigned to cover the wholerange from coarse to fine reduction. They handle hardand medium-hard material, and are used especially in those applications where a high reduction ratio and a cubic,stress-free final product are called for. They are used tocrush coal, potash, limestone,gypsum, slag, overburden, rubble and asphalt material.

Other applications are in theselective reduction of ore-bearing materials and in the chemical industry for the reduction of sulphur gravel,baryte, bauxite etc.

Double-shaft impact crushersachieve the very high reductionratio of 1:100, reduce large feedlumps in one process to a finalgrain size of approx. 25 mmreaching throughput rates of up to 2000 t/h. They are mainly used in thecement-, lime- and gypsumindustries.

Special designs allow inclines tobe varied from 20-25° and allow shifting up to 3000 mm.Bevel spur gearboxes, planetarygears and hydraulic motors can be installed for either fixed-speed or infinitely variabledrives. Double drives are installed to achieve higher driving powers.

Chain conveyors in light-dutydesign with capacities of up to4000 t/h are the choice for lessabrasive materials.

Drying – grinding – separating –for a variety of applications and uses.

Dry grinding systems are usedas open-circuit mills or in connection with high-efficiencyseparators in a closed circuitand serve for the fine grindingof hard, brittle materials. In thecase of circuit grinding, the moisture of the material to beground is restricted to about 1.5 % H2O. Moistures exceedingthis value cannot be dried bythe grinding heat alone.Therefore, in these cases, additional heat must be intro-duced into the grinding system.

They are used for the fine grinding of mineral raw materials with an already highfeed moisture or such mineralraw materials which containmoist, sticky contaminations.Furthermore, they are used if, in the following process step,the ground material is processed in the form of awater/solids suspension.

Rod mills are ideal for producingsands by grinding gravel and forthe preparation of ores.

Beyond the high separation efficiency, the series “QS” ischaracterized by its particulareconomy and reliability. As both bearings are arrangedoutside the separator, they canbe replaced without dismantlingthe rotor. To suit the different applicationconditions, the separators of allour series are equipped with ametallic, chemical-ceramic orceramic (Al2O3-ceramics) wearprotection.

Upon request, the series “QS”can also be supplied as modularsystem. This permits the subsequentinstallation of an additionalseparating air supply coil, anadditional cyclone and fan todouble the capacity of the sepa-rator.

Powder coolers fromThyssenKrupp Fördertechnik areused for cooling dustlike, free-flowing materials.

Thermal drying of bulk materialswhether fine, coarse, plastic orsludgy calls for a special dryingsystem that has to be suited tothe material properties, i.e. the consistency, moisture,grain size, structure and abrasiveness. Here, aero- and hydro-cyclonesare distinguished.Aero-cyclones serve for separa-ting dustlike materials from air-/gas-carrying media. They offer high separation efficiencies at low pressure lossand are executed with a wearprotection suiting the respectiveapplication conditions.

Hydro-cyclones are used for thecontinuous classification andconcentration of suspended particles from liquids.Throughput rate and separatingbehaviour can be varied bychanging the diameter of theover- and underflow nozzles aswell as by changing the presetpressure.
