Dear Prince of Peace Catholic Church Community,

When Jesus said “Let the children come to me,” He asked for children from all

walks of life to be at His side. Skin color, hair color, weight, height, and age—

among other things—did not matter. Jesus showered each child with love, faith,

and kindness. I believe He saw these children as His future church. He saw

them as children who would one day preach and live the gospel in His name. He

saw them as children who would one day pray as they were taught by Jesus,

Himself.

Each time I see a picture of Jesus with the children I am in awe. Each time I am

with a group of children I feel Jesus’ love and presence. As I write this letter to

all of you, as Jesus would do, I ask you to let your children come to Prince of

Peace Catholic School. Let them be a part of a school filled with Jesus’ pres-

ence and love through our teachers, our staff, and most importantly, our stu-dents.

Affording a Catholic Education might be within your reach. I take this opportunity to both encourage and

invite you to schedule an appointment at Prince of Peace Catholic School. Mrs. Lopez, our Office Manager,

along with Mrs. Dolch, our School Receptionist would be happy to share the many wonderful things happen-

ing at our school. The tour will allow you to see our students and teachers in action. You will have a chance

to meet with our administration. And finally, you would feel the academic opportunities and achievement of

Prince of Peace Catholic School.

It is a privilege to be a part of not only Prince of Peace Catholic School as the Interim Principal, but also to be

a part of such a vibrant and faith-filled church community. As I close my letter of request, I ask you to think

about a future at Prince of Peace Catholic School for your child(ren). We would love to be a part of your

child’s educational journey and formation In Faith, In Knowledge, In Friendship, For Service. Thank you for read-

ing this letter and setting up a tour and visit. I am sure you will be happy you did! Wishing you all God’s ev-

erlasting love and peace.

Blessings,

Mrs. Tully

Interim Principal

of Modern-Day Apostles

Internationally acclaimed

speaker and author Chris Ste-

fanick speaks about the impor-

tance of living a life of authen-

Christ. Following these lessons will help us to fulfill our calling to be fearlessly, joyfully Catholic, with a

faith that is attractive, life-giving, and truly conta-

gious.

Fr. Smith extends his appreciation to the parishion-ers who generously gave to the Bishop’s Annual Ap-peal resulting in this letter from our Bishop! Dear Father Smith, As you know, the Bishop’s Annual Appeal makes it possi-ble for the Diocese to support and engage in many very important ministries. I write to you to congratulate you in your great increase from the 2016 to 2017 Annual Ap-peal collections. The record of $68,620 collected in 2017 indicates a 28.8% increase from the $53,276 raised in 2016. I want to thank you for your hard work and support in this im-portant effort. In the Lord’s Peace, Most Reverend Robert E. Guglielmone Bishop of Charleston

We ask all parishioners to pray for our First

Communicants who will be receiving their

First Holy Communion 28 April.

Dear Lord, we ask You to bless our First Communi-

cants who will soon receive the Holy Eucharist for

the first time. May You fill them with Your grace and

inspire them to imitate the saints in a time in the

world. May they be protected by our Blessed Mother

and surrounded by legions of angels as they journey

in their faith. Amen

For all those not able to receive our LORD in the Eucharist: If you are unable to receive Holy Com-munion for whatever reason, make a Spiritual Com-munion by reciting the following:

An Act of Spiritual Communion

My Jesus, I believe that You are in the Blessed Sacra-ment. I love You above all things, and I long for You in my soul. Since I cannot now receive You sacra-mentally, come at least spiritually into my heart, as though You have already come. I embrace You and unite myself entirely to You; never permit me to be

separated from You.

The Totus Tuus Potluck is scheduled for 25

July 2018. All parishioners are welcome to enjoy

an evening of fellowship, even if you do not have

children participating in the program.

Dcn. Michael Cunningham with family and friends just

after his ordination to the Diaconate.

On Corpus Christi (3 June 2018), we will merge the 10a and 12p Mass into one joyous celebration of the First Mass of the newly ordained Fr. Michael Cunningham. Cunningham is a be-loved local of Spartanburg who fell in love with the Extraordi-nary Form of Mass at Prince of Peace Catholic Church. He serves with almost 300 priests and 110 seminarians in the Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter, a Clerical Society of Apostolic Life of Pontifical Rite. And, will be assigned to a post within the FSSP worldwide.

Schedule:

9.30a First Blessing (all are invited to receive a blessing by Fr. Cunningham) 10a Solemn High Mass (EF) with procession Reception in the PAC (all are welcome)

On 9 April, parishioners, school families and many

members of the community came together to watch

28,882 dominoes topple thanks to two-time past

Guinness World Record holder, John Wickham’s

dedication of countless hours of time, labor and en-

ergy. We extend our gratitude to John and his wife,

Katy, 20-year-long members of our parish, and to

everyone who attended this fun event that raised

nearly $5,000 for student scholarships, teacher de-

velopment, quick impact projects, and added technol-

ogy at the parish school. What an incredible night!
