Barrister Hotchand Advani Marg, Off Linking Road, Bandra(W), Mumbai - 400050.R. D. National College started in 1949 by Late Principal K. M. Kundnani has today become an excellent centre of higher learning that aims at academic excellence and emphasizes secular, community education.
The College caters to the educational needs of varied sections of society, especially the minorities and the under privileged. Fifty percent of its students belong to the minority communities like Sindhi, Muslim, Christian and Sikh. The courses offered are from Pre Degree Plus level to Ph. d. in Arts, Science, Commerce Mass Media, Management Studies, Information Technology, Bio Technology and Computer Science. The college also offers Dual Degree programs in Bio-Technology, Beauty Care and Personal Grooming, Heritage Management and Music Appreciation.
The college has spacious laboratories and class rooms for academic activities, a Badminton Hall and a flood lit Multi Sports-Basketball/Throw ball / Volleyball Court for sports activities and a well equipped air conditioned Auditorium and Conference Halls for co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. The library equipped with internet facility and more than 80,000 volumes of books, journals provides excellent opportunities for academic exploration to the students.
The college has created various academic and community management instruments which includes the House System, the Tutor System, the Honors' Program, Adoption of a village, slums and Collaboration with NGOs.
The college completed sixty years in 2009-10. Every program initiated in the Sixtieth year is documented for its continuity during post Diamond Jubilee period. Open Book Test and Extensive Coaching Sessions for the students of Third Year, Community Awareness and Assessment Survey Program (CAASP) , Network of Academic Administrators, “Training in Green Chemistry and its relevance in Education Curricula, “Vigyan Yatra” , Adult Education for School Dropout women, Gratitude Week, Tribal Arts Fair, Programs in Human Rights, Bhajan Sandhya to commemorate Shahid Divas are few such initiatives that were initiated during Diamond Jubilee year and have been continued since then.

The Department of Computer Science was established in the year 1999-2000, when the course (B.Sc. Computer Science) was introduced by the University of Mumbai. Since its inception, the Department has grown in strength and in 2005 has initiated M.Sc. Computer Science as well. The Department has skilled and committed In-House Faculty, Non-Teaching Staff and excellent infrastructural facilities. In addition to the regular academics, guest lectures are held by industry experts and professionals and live industry projects have enabled students to enhance their skill set. The Department has successfully found placements for meritorious students in the industry.
