F001 – Create a general journal entry

General Ledger > Journals > General journal

Step 1: Type <Ctrl-N> to create a new journal. Choose from dropdown list a Journal

For example select JV (Journal Voucher)

Step 2: Click on “Lines” button and enter the following information.

Step 3: Click on the “Validate” button and select Validate option to make sure that the transaction is

correct

Now the accounting manager will review the journal then approve the journal by:

Step 4: Click Approval >> Reported a ready

Step 5: Click Approval >> Approve

Step 6: Click on the “Post” button and select Post option

Step 7: Verify posting in the general ledger. Go to the chart of accounts for Interest Expense

(52020103). Click on “Transactions” button.
