Guy Montag was a fireman and he loved his job. But Montag was not like the good fireman you and I know. This was a world where a fireman’s job was to burn books instead of putting out fires.
One day Montag met a beautiful young girl named Clarisse. She made Montag wonder if he really was happy burning books.
That night he came home to find his wife very sad. He starts to realize that he is not happy and his life needs to change.
The next night the firemen go to the woman’s house to burn a huge library just full of the greatest books.
Montag saves one of the excellent books before the house is totally burned.
Montag comes into a new world of books and he loves them. He reads all of them and then he reads them again and again until his eyes are sore from reading so much.
Montag goes to talk to another book lover named Faber. He says he will help Montag make fireman not burn books anymore , but he also says that it will not be easy.
The firemen didn’t like that Montag was having so much fun reading so one night they come to his house. Montag blinds his Captain and escapes from the firemen.
Montag runs toward the river with the firemen close behind, but he makes it and he jumps into the river for safety.
As Montag finally climbed out of the river he met a man named Granger. He liked books too and told Montag that he could read books whenever he was pleased.
Montag was free to read whatever he wanted and he was finally happy. He had escaped the evil bookless world and now loves the books he used to burn.
