  • Fab Lab Integrated Learning and Support

Learning resources In-depth STEAM curriculum is built

to utilize digital equipment. It is

developed by a team of PhD’s in

    education. The curriculum is formatted

to comply with all learning standards.

    (Common-Core, NGSS, ISTE, etc.)

    Choose from hundreds of lessons,

modules and units. Each are complete

    with research materials, worksheets,

    needed files, etc. Integrate into

existing courses or use as stand-alone

    courses and quickly integrates staff

into the use of the PHabLAB.

sTorM VirTuaL Presence TechnoLogy Video conferencing technology

to collaborate and train live in the

    classroom and share ideas remotely.

Also allows students to watch their

    projects when utilizing remote printing

    from a lap top.

    9. Powered and Pumped up –The team challenge is to design and build a solar energy concentrator, demonstrate its effectiveness, and demonstrate how the water on Mars can be used to store this energy.

    2. Printing Press – Students will research the origins of printing and how they function. Each student will build their individual printing press to make unique designs and prints.

    10. Floating Zoo – Student teams will learn the importance of Archimedes Principal and why things float and sink. They calculate how much weight the ark could hold; learn how any item’s weight, volume, gravity and density can be determined using only water.

    3. Birdhouse/Feeder – Student teams will be challenged to build a birdhouse that can easily be converted to a bird feeder for year-round use.

    11. Waste to resource – The student team challenge is to research wastes that are candidates for composting. They will design and build a shredder to prepare the waste for composting.

    4. Toying around – Students will explore how toys can be used in childhood development to reinforce learning as well as physical skills. Teams will create their toys for a specific user group, for example a kindergarten class in their school district.

    12. exploring gears – Student teams research and design gear types and uses, learn mathematics of gears, investigate applications of various gear types, study the origins of horsepower and its impact on modern machines.

    5. Puzzle – Students will learn how to program a laser cutter to create a fun photo puzzle. They will use CAD to design the cutout for the puzzle.

    13. Flute – How is musical sound created? Students will learn how wind instruments create sound; how to create music and notes from the sound.

    6. Biz3D Project – Biz3D introduces students to the characteristics of entrepreneurship and how these concepts can be integrated into opportunities in their academic careers and lives. The makerspace is used by each team to design and create a prototype of their idea to be used in its promotion and sales.

    14. Drums – Students will learn about how percussion instruments create sound and then compose a song or play an existing song.

    15. ukulele – What is the difference between analog and digital music and musical instruments? Each team will study the origins and history of the instrument, then design and build, learn to play, and subsequently perform.

    8. Logo – In this project, student teams are challenged to create their team logo to establish their identity. Students learn the characteristics of an effective logo and the brand image they are intended to convey.

VariaBLe ouTcoMeLearning MoDuLes Allow all students to create a project

and provide a solution with different

    outcomes. Students can create, build

    and learn different problem-solving

    skills with different outcomes from

    a learning module. Supports your

    current curriculum and perfect for

all subjects. One week to six week

    modules.

reMoTe 3D PrinTing, Laser cuTTing & raPiD ProToTyPing In need of more capacity for 3D print projects? Send

the files to INVENTOR CLOUD and we

can print the projects for you and send

them to your school. Each printer and

laser cutter is equipped with a STORM

camera for viewing of printing in

    real time.

Design soFTWare insTrucTion No need to be an expert in CAD. We will teach CAD

to a specific project remotely through

    STORM Virtual Presence video

    conferencing technology.

caD FiLe PreVieW Students can create a CAD file and send

    to INVENTOR CLOUD for review.

INVENTOR CLOUD will let you know if

anything needs to be corrected with the

file for print or laser etching and cutting.

Tech suPPorT For success Have questions about your 3D printer or your design

    software? Contact INVENTOR

CLOUD and we can support you and

guide you to a solution. Professional

development is integral in the success

of your lab. We are here to assist in

training of all teachers regardless of

    technical skills and knowledge.

ProJecTs See 15 of our top projects your students can create. All support various subjects and supports your current curriculum.

    7. Let it glide – Students learn how the laws of physics enable flight even without an engine. In this NASA inspired challenge,

student teams design a glider and vary launch parameters to achieve maximum

    stable flight.

    1. gaining Traction on Mars –Students will design, build and test the Mars Rover. Teams will compete on various Mars soil conditions. (Originally funded by a NASA grant.)

Our Turn-key Process: PHabLAB Implementation and Support Solutions.A Fab Lab or Makerspace is a place for innovation, invention,

collaboration and learning using a variety of technical tools

and materials through digital fabrication. Students learn to

be creative and turn an idea into a reality and use in the real

world. Whether called Fab Labs, STEAM Labs, Hackerspaces,

or Makerspaces, these “Project-Based Learning” labs are

popping up in educational institutions all around the globe.

A Fab Lab is not just for tech courses; all STEAM classes use

the spaces to enhance their curriculum.

    Encourages collaborationand critical thinking.
