• Apply to prepared surface fullstrength or thinned withmedium, depending on desiredeffect. Iridescent Coloursreflect off the background.Over dark backgrounds, colours are quite vivid. Over alight background, coloursappear soft and subtle.

undiluted to accent details using a dry brush technique.

• Thin using a small amount of Jo Sonja’s RetarderMedium or apply to a surface moistened with Retarderfor a soft effect. Apply with a sponge or brush. Usethinned colour for a glaze over a painted surface. Brusha medium coat of thinned colour over prepared surface.Create various effects and patterns by removing theoverglaze with a sponge, plastic wrap or cloth for a‘ragging off ’ technique.

• For spattering, thin as needed using small amounts of Jo Sonja’s Flow Medium orwater for consistency desired. The more Flow Medium used, the more transparent the colourbecomes. Spatter by pullingthumb over the end of a firmbristle brush filled with thinnedcolour to create desired effect.May be applied over a barrier coat

of Jo Sonja’s Clear Glaze Medium so that excess spatteringmay easily be removed.

• Clean up with mild soap and cool water.

Intricate-looking stainedglass and mosaic finishes aresurprisingly easy to achieve. For stained glass (1): Startwith a dry piece basecoatedin Carbon Black. Dabblesmall blotches of alternatingIridescent Colours onto the

piece allowing them to meet or overlapand vary in thickness. When dry, use a liner

brush loaded with Carbon Black anda shaky hand to outline individualcolour blotches. Add extra linesto divide some blotches. Finishby varnishing with PolyurethaneWaterbased Gloss Varnish. For mosaic (2): Follow steps asabove, applying only two IridescentColours in larger blotches and usingballs of scrunched plastic wrapinstead of a brush. (Linda Jensen)
