Haller Enterprises employs over 400 smiling faces, working out of six branches, serving thousands of customers throughout south-central Pennsylvania. To live out their company mission is no small undertaking; however, at Haller Enterprises they put words into action by living their mission every day -“To enrich the lives of Haller Enterprises employees, customers, and the communities we serve by delivering unparalleled commercial and residential service and solutions.”

Providing Haller Enterprises’ team with a safe, rewarding, and meaningful work environment is of the highest priority. With the launch of their new internal “Values in Action” program, employees are recognized and rewarded by their coworkers for demonstrating one or more of Haller’s values (integrity, excellence, customer focus, teamwork, innovation, empowerment, and safety) in their everyday life. Throughout the year, Haller Enterprises also off ers employees events to attend with their coworkers and families such as the Barnstormers season opener, company breakfast, Hershey Park outing, bus trips, paintball, golf outing, and fi shing trip. It’s safe to say that working at Haller Enterprises is rewarding in more ways than one.

Serving their customers is the reason Haller Enterprises employees choose Haller as their place of work. Whether it’s installing a new heating or cooling system, fi xing a leaky faucet, or changing a lightbulb - they are always happy to serve their customers.

Giving back is one way Haller Enterprises says “thank you” to their communities. Last year Haller Enterprises helped remodel Water Street Mission’s kitchen in one week in the “Mission Makeover.” This winter be sure to look for a chance to nominate a family in need for the “Gift of Heat” - a program where Haller installs a new heating system for a family in need, keeping them warm for years to come. Haller Enterprises also sponsors a number of organizations that help support the local communities it serves.

Through these initiatives Haller Enterprises has shown that it is a company living its mission of enriching the lives of its employees, customers, and communities it serves.

Old fashioned quality using the latest technologyOur business is located in the heart of a small community, which has become a pillar of who we are. We integrate this into our business model by hiring within the community, giving bigger discounts and running promotions, the proceeds of which go directly to community non-profi ts. Here at The Rug Beater, we treat every home and business like it is our own. We see the importance of taking the time to educate our clients on their fl ooring, in order to make it possible for them to make decisions they are comfortable with. We seek to provide every client with the industry’s most thorough cleaning available and promise to deliver on exactly what they are paying for and exceed their expectations. Our ability to give undivided attention to each client is attributable to our amazing employees. We recognize that we do not exist without them. It would simply be impossible to achieve our philosophy on client relations without honest, reliable, dedicated employees. We count ourselves luckyto have employees who have transformed our work environment into a family-like atmosphere. This atmosphere has helped us achieve consistent growth over our 28 years of business and has us convinced that there truly is no place like Lancaster County to run a business.

What’s up with this fi ngerprint I keep seeing?Fingerprints are used to determine you are who you say you are. They are formed before birth, and stay consistent through decades of growth and hard work. Out of seven billion people, no two are alike. They are tangible proof of our unique identities. As a fourth-generation, family-owned construction company, our identity has always been rooted in long-lasting client relationships because we stand behind the mark we leave on every project.

Treating each project as if it were our own not only benefi ts our company culture, but it elevates the level of services we off er to our clients. From pre-construction to fi nal walk through, we serve as a full-service partner focused on quality, effi ciency and cost containment. For over 80 years, this has been our approach, and has allowed us to build extensive experience in a variety of industries: from large-scale healthcare and senior living communities to state-of-the-art commercial, industrial and educational facilities.

The fi ngerprint isn’t just a logo. It’s a visual representation of our approach. A reminder for us to own each decision we make. It’s the mark we leave on every project. Because for us, this isn’t just a business, it’s our legacy.A legacy built on trust.

Dedicated owners Sharon and Jim Landis, have cultivated their passion into a thriving shop fi lled with an extraordinary collection of tools, gadgets and ingredients to make the heart of any foodie race.

In 2012, the couple seized an amazing opportunity to purchase a small culinary gift store on Main Street in Lititz. Jim and Sharon envisioned a wonderful kitchen store that had the potential to be a true treasure in the historic town of Lititz.

“During our travels in the US and abroad, we have always found ourselves in a culinary store of some kind. Specialty markets, kitchen stores, etc. One of our favorite stops was Dehillerin in Paris, an inspiration to both Julia Child and Chuck Williams from Williams Sonoma. We wanted to create an experience like that right here in Lititz,” Sharon explains.

Today, that vision has become a reality. The store was remodeled in 2014 and now features hundreds of specialty items geared toward cooking enthusiasts of all levels, along with a kitchen for hosting a variety of cooking classes throughout the year.

Lancaster’s Transmission Experts Cottman Transmission, established in 1962, is Lancaster County’s premier transmission service and repair center. Owned by Scott Stillwell, the business has six employees.

As owner of Cottman Transmission, Scott’s mission is to provide the community with top-of-the-line transmission service and repair for individuals and dealerships, and to honor most extended service plans (contracts/insurance). There is also an emphasis on the use of local community vendors for everything from offi ce supplies and printing needs to auto parts.

Over the last three years, Cottman has added two additional full-time employees, two new lifts for a total of six in the shop and new diagnostic equipment. Cottman Transmission will provide free initial diagnostics/consultation for “check engine” lights or driveability concerns. Scott has also set the shop phone to be forwarded to his cellphone so customers can reach him after hours and on weekends.

The success wouldn’t be there without the employees that work there. “Collectively, we have over 120 years’ experience repairing transmissions,” Scott says. “My employees are like family; we spend more waking time together than they might spend with their own wife and kids, and I appreciate them for all their hard work here.”

iTrain: a proud partner in your fi tness journeyEstablishing a business in Lancaster was a long journey for personal trainer Wayne Mutata: 7,904 miles to be exact.

Mutata was born in Harare, Zimbabwe. He attributes his desire to come to the U.S., become a personal trainer and own a training studio to a childhood encounter with a female missionary.

“I saw her exercising, doing push-ups, sit-ups, squats…” He laughed and asked her if this was something that “only girls do.”

In response she showed him a picture of Arnold Schwarzenegger. Mutata’s dream — to train, become a body builder and move to the U.S. — began that day.Success, he thought, looked like that picture.

Fast forward to today and Mutata is not just living his dream (he holds a national title in the men’s Fitbody and is a two-time winner of Mr. Ironfi t), but helpingothers achieve their goals at iTrain Studio, which he founded in 2014.

Fitness, Mutata believes, is a lifelong journey — one that’s made easier with the help of friends. The other trainers at iTrain, Julie Mathers, Steve Banh and Wildon Layne, are more family than co-workers, as are the clients the team serves.Embracing his heritage, Mutata refers to everyone at iTrain as a pride — as in a lion’s pride. Clearly, he’s proud of them.

Lancaster County Landscape Architecture/Land Development Company

MLSaxinger & Associates’ Inc. mission is to prepare creative sustainable solutions for land development and stormwater management, and to work with integrity and honesty to establish lasting client relationships.

Stormwater management has become a focal point of land development. Being a Lancaster County native, I’ve seen the impact of development on some of the nation’s richest soil. I have also witnessed the consequences of poor land stewardship on local watersheds and the Chesapeake Bay. As a result, it is crucial to educate both landowners and developers about today’s Best Management Practices (BMPs). I work alongside other local professionals, such as surveyors, engineers and geologists, to design stormwater BMPs that suit each specifi c site. Our team works together to design projects that are then presented to the municipality for approval. My 24 years of experience preparing and presenting these types of plans to local municipalities has given me a profound understanding and respect for the land of Lancaster County and surrounding areas.
