Sun exposure, gravity and years of muscle movement (i.e., smiling, chewing, and squinting) also contribute to tissue breakdown and loss of elasticity of the skin. Fortunately, there are many innovative, cosmetic procedures that can help ease this aging process and sustain one’s youth. Facial fillers are some of the most popular and effective non-surgical options that are available to achieve a more youthful look. These are also known as “dermal fillers” and “injectables”. They are all FDA approved and found to be quite safe. There are two main classes of injectables. One type is Botox, which prevents tiny muscles of the upper face from excessive movement which create unwanted creases and lines. The results take up to a week to finalize.
