SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION/REQUIREMENTS

This room also needs the ability to broadcast to the smaller classrooms. (Connect through technology.)

Smart Teaching Podiums or work stations with PC and /or laptops; Symposium (if required); digital document camera; DVD player or VOD; wireless microphone for instructor; any other innovative required teaching tool.

Hanging microphones and audio wall taps are needed. One of the smaller classrooms must also be equipped as a self-contained Videoconference

room. (Same capabilities as the videoconference room listed in the Media Services Learning commons.

The rooms would have to either be raised flooring or be trenched to place all the wiring in the floor and have flush mounted cable floor boxes.

Crestron driven room technology for use with controlling all of the podium technology in the classrooms and controlling all the room lights; projector screen (if used); LCD screen (instead of projector screen & mounted projector).

Each classroom would need high bandwidth (10gig) cat 5/6 internet access. Each video feed would include: Cat 5/6; fiber; RF; HDMI All video feeds would originate and go

Instructional TV classroom (ITV) - This room will provide the faculty the opportunity to conduct and send live classes to the other USF campuses as well as via webcast with an encoded linkage in Blackboard.

Videoconference Room - This high end room will provide for faculty videoconferencing classes to the other USF campuses and other outlying educational site partners. The room would also provide administrative opportunities for videoconference meetings with other post-secondary education institutions and community partners, as well as providing the Lakeland Campus Board and the USF President a central Florida meeting place.

Equipment Storage and Checkout - This room will house all of the Media equipment for student and faculty checkout and also a storage area for all of the AV/Media equipment needed for the support of the entire campus operation.

The Work Commons area media rooms will include: The Media Services Offices- These offices will house all of the Media Services personnel needed for an

operation on a polytechnic campus. The Media Specialists will work in a collaborative environment for sharing innovative ideas, resolutions to issues and the monitoring of the campus media systems.

Central Machine Core Room - This room will be the operation center for the distribution (monitoring) of all the video/audio signals in and out of the campus and will house all of the central machines for recording, duplication, media servers, VBrick encoders/decoders, videoconference codecs/content servers, Crestron distribution, cable/satellite distribution, digital signage server & slaves, and any other equipment needed for distribution around the campus and to distant educational sites.

Editing Suites & Audio Recording Booth - These areas are for producing the final product of video shoots for faculty instructional projects and administrative special video projects. The audio recording booth & editing rooms will allow for the audio recording and mixing of soundtracks, podcasts, web announcements, radio shows and radio commercials. The video editing booth will allow for the final product editing of videos for faculty instruction for the classroom and online. Final video productions can also be produced for the web, podcasts, TV commercials, TV information shows, student news shows, public relations projects, and administrative special projects with community partners. The editing suite will also provide for interactive DVD production & duplication.

Production Control & TV studio - The production control room will provide the video switching, audio and graphics recording for the TV studio productions. This room will also provide the switching area for the Instructional TV classroom. The TV studio will be able to produce interactive videos for faculty instruction and other special projects.

TV Workroom & Storage - This room will provide for the storage of TV sets (backdrops), furniture and equipment for faculty instruction or special productions. This area will also be used for the building of these sets.
