FACS 2019 Summer Fun Mini-Camps

Summer Fun Mini-Camps are designed for children from all schools looking for a fun and exciting way to take away summer boredom.

Registration ends one week prior to the first day of each mini-camp.

Make sure the camp(s) you choose are age appropriate for your child. Registration forms must be completed, signed, and returned with deposit before registration of a camp is complete. Put forms and deposit in an envelope addressed to Summer Fun Mini-Camps/Merilyn Turman. The remaining payment is due on the first day of camp. Make payments to FACS with cash, check, or money order. Camps will be filled on a first come, first served basis. (The deposit reserves your spot and is non-refundable unless the camp is cancelled due to lack of interest and you will be notified as soon as possible.) Campers must be in good health and able to participate in all activities listed in the enrolled camp. Required medication must be administered at home before arriving for camp session. Any exceptions will require guardian consent and a written doctor's order to be on file with medication and a written care plan for children with asthma or severe allergies. FACS Summer Fun Mini-Camps reserve the right to cancel any mini-camp session that does not meet minimum enrollment requirements. Also, we reserve the right to dismiss campers displaying disruptive or unsafe behavior with no refunds.

Come create a fun camping experience indoors! Indoor Camping is an easy activity that is less stressful for campers of all ages to take part in, regardless of the weather. This week is all about teamwork, making friends, good sportsmanship and leadership. Campers and counselors are assigned to teams and compete in fun and wacky challenges throughout the week. Grab your needle and thread because we are “Sew” happy for your budding seamstress to join us each day as we explore the basics of sewing. Your child will design and create a variety of hands-on-projects throughout the week of camp. We provide all fabrics, sewing machines, and supplies, you just bring the creativity. All of our projects enforce STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) which provides an invisible learning experience while having “Sew” much fun. Create, code, command…let’s go! This mashup of brick building and coding is sure to please your programming engineer. This summer we will build and code a variety if robotic creations, play coding games, compete in challenges, and have so much fun. Each build will focus on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) through computational thinking, design, creativity, and more. This camp is for girls and boys who love to create keepsakes. We will be creating some very Pinteresting things like t-shirts, cool stuff for the bedroom & home that parents won’t want to throw away! Grab your paint brush and get ready for your inner artist to bloom! Young artists will explore many different mediums in this hands-on art camp. Students will create and work with different types of paints, oil pastels, mosaics, and weaving materials. BeezyBodies puts emphasis on developing creativity and imagination with a special focus on skill. Campers will explore pointillism, silhouettes, self-portraits, canvas painting, and many other unconventional art projects. I understand that Camp FACS personnel reserve the right to dismiss any child whose behavior becomes unmanageable or inappropriate. Inappropriate behavior would include anything that violates the policies of FACS.
