Fact Sheet ‐ Obtain Windows 10 Product Key for Managed BYOD Device Last Updated: 18/01/2016
Important Notes:
The Heights School managed BYOD devices for 2016 utilise Windows 10 Education. Each student needs to register to
retrieve their personal licence of Windows 10 Education to register their device. This document provides instructions
on how to obtain your personal licence from the store.
The steps contained within this document can be performed on any device, including school‐owned computers.
However we recommend that you do not commence this until you are at school, with your device, ready to join the
network. It is imperative that once you obtain your personal Windows 10 product key, you retain it for future
reference. If you do not keep your product key, in the future you will be unable to retrieve it from the site, leaving
your BYOD device running Windows 10 that will not activate. Please note, students are not to share their licence key
with other students or anyone else, doing so violates the Microsoft Licence agreement.
Before you start you need to make sure you have access to your LearnLink email address. A copy of your initial
details will be given to your home group teacher. Otherwise you can come down to ICT if you need your LearnLink ID
or password.
