■ Many organizations are confronted with aging SPARC servers

■ Critical business applications must be available at all times and protected against loss. Additionally, availability and performance are often subject to specific SLAs (Service Level Agreements).

■ Migration projects are often planned without detailed investigation of the actual server environment.

■ The migration itself is often not planned optimally, and typically the methods used ultimately result in the migration taking far longer than necessary.

Migration Assessment ServiceThis fixed-price service systematically identifies possible migration strategies in the server environment and defines clear recommendations for performing the migration of applications to new PRIMERGY® Servers using Linux. Fujitsu experts examine the server infrastructure that are present in the IT environment.

The analyzed information gathered during the assessment is the basis for the report presented during a handover meeting. The report provides a road map for the server migration.

Presentation of report & recommendationsFujitsu consultants present the recommendations of the assessment to you. You receive a comprehensive report detailing a summary of the possible migration measures. This can be directly followed by a Fujitsu Data Migration Service if requested.

Assessment Service ConditionsThe Customer agrees to the following conditions as pursuant to the delivery of the service defined:

■ Provide contact to necessary staff

■ Provide appropriate meeting rooms

The Migration Assessment Service is provided on a fixed price basis for a maximum of 10 systems comprising of:

■ Servers and Applications

■ Storage Usage

■ Current Server Network Configuration

The services covers a maximum of 2 days on-site visits to the customer site.

Additional options, such as additional customer meetings, or extension of the scope of the assessment to other areas such as IP network, applications (databases and messaging systems), as well as further servers and online storage systems or data protection can be provided upon request, as additional chargeable services.

This Professional Service is provided under the conditions valid for Fujitsu America, Inc. services.

Assessment Service DescriptionService preparation WorkshopOur consultants meet with you to prepare for the service, collect information about the target servers, discuss specific goals and verify key contacts for the service delivery.

Gathering informationIn a discussion with your IT personnel all necessary information is collected.

Analysis of dataAnalyze data as follows:

■ Types and brands of server systems present

■ The quantity of applications to be migrated

■ Interactions between the applications to be migrated

■ Quantity and type of storage in use

■ Type of current storage in place

Prepare customer reportA report of the current environment and an initial road map is presented. The data analysis is summarized and documented creating an initial migration road map.
