General response time reduction by caching

Too long response time when opening functions and switching forms in Factory Track

ProblemUtilize caching mechanisms better to load and save forms and parameter settings per transaction profile in browser cache.

SolutionSecond time a function or form needs to be opened the time for loading is significantly reduced

Navigating in and out of functions will be significantly faster second time executed.

Benefit

Planned dates are subject change in time and scope without any prior notice.Disclaimer

Support for Potency on Active Items 1 (3)

Active items with varying potency (strength or concentration) affects how M3 display and transact theoretical vs physical on-hand-balance. Factory Track did not respect varying potency and all quantities displayed as nominal and not physical.

ProblemFor active items (ACTI = 1) we display and report back using the physical quantityinstead of the theoretical nominal quantity.

New behavior controlled by parameters to avoid changes for existing customers.

SolutionUser can interact with Factory Track in the quantity which they handle and physically touch in the warehouse.

Benefit

All Factory Track Transactions does not yet support Potency and Active Items.Limitations

………

Managing Active Picker on Pick Lists

FT will lock pick lists to current user by assigning user id to header.

Picker may break session with open pick lists. These pick lists are locked from otherusers to process.

ProblemNew ways to search and display pick lists with or without picker id.

New action to unlock pick lists (clear picker from pick list)

Error message including info about picker when selecting locked pick list

SolutionHandle situations when pick lists have been locked by mistake without having to go back into M3.

FT users on warehouse floor becomes more independent from admin personnel.

Benefit

Limitations

………

• More options to select pick list by pickerid:– Non locked– My own + non non locked– ALL– Only locked– Specific picker

• Display picker ID in pisk list Select screen

• New action – ”Unlock Pick List”

• Error message if you try to select lockedpick list for further processing.

Warehouse Move – authority control

Warehouse Move is a very powerful transaction allowing users to move between locations and warehouses but also scrapping and dispositioning material is possible. The openness of the transaction caused compliance issues.

ProblemControl what user is allowed to select and perform through Transaction profile settings.

Adding parameters to control and propose warehouses, order types and reason codes.

SolutionBe compliant with business rules by controlling what a user can do.

Avoid errors by user mistakes.

Easier for user to select from more narrowrange of options.

Benefit

Limitations

………

• Default values (FT 6.01.10)

• Limit list of allowed values (FT 7.0)– Warehouse from and to– Order type– Reason code

Scope:156 order types in

our example.

Printing control

Printing labels and documents is closely connected to processes performed in FT.

Limited possibilities for the end-user to control which printer, how many copies to print etc

ProblemAllowing for end-user to change setup and better control documents triggered from within FT as well as documents triggered in background by M3.

SolutionEnd-user to manage daily operations without involving admin/IT.

The close-mark flag was not available inside FT-forms so user needed to og into M3 or ask other user with access to M3 when needing to close an order line (MO/PO)

ProblemAdd field for close-marking a line from the Factory Track reporting screens

SolutionEmpower end-users to perform all necessary tasks on their device.

Excecute decisions directly on device to save time and resources required when needing to go back into M3.

RECEIVE MULTIPLE PACKAGES

User need easier way to enter a received quantity as a computation of the package size received and the number of packages.

When receiving multiple identical packages users wants to generate multiple packages in stock in one transaction.

ProblemAllow users to enter received quantity by entering quantity per package OR unit of measure AND number of packages.

Allow user to use above concept in combination with packages in stock (container method 7) to generate multiple packages in one transaction

SolutionRemove mistakes and the need for manually calculating received quantity on the side.

Reduce time for processing and receiving multiple packages at the same time.

Benefit ………

First phase is limited to RECEIVE. Other functions are planned follow to support concept of “qty/pkg”, number of packages and alt UMLimitation

• Keep them open

• Exit all at sign-off

Package quantity and Alt Unit of MeasureF a c t o r y T r a c k f o r M 3

Problem

Goods is handled in a package qty /

unit of measure different from basic

unit of measure in M3.

Balance ID contains more than one

handling unit.

Package sizes vary from delivery to

delivery from supplier

Solution

Introduce support for “package

quantity”. Roll into all relevant FT-

transactions.

Benefit• Easy capture of package quantity

• Remove need for manual

calculation of transaction quantity

Scenarios:1. Qty/Pkg scanned or entered manually.

2. Alt UM entered or defaulted to get

Qty/Pkg from M3.

3. GTIN / EAN scannedand mapped to

Alias number in M3. Get Qty/Pkg OR Alt

UM from Alias number table.
