The Factorylvlate Plus 286 and lheFacloryMate Plus 386 are fullylntegrated, tested and supported, Dosor Os/2-based industrial workslationplatforms for industrial control. Thesesystems are designed with a rugged,user{riented hardware platform thatcan easily integrale with any third partyindustrial software package.

The exclusive Membrane Key Editor(MKE) in the Factoryl\4ate Plus 286 andFactoryMale Plus 386 enables the userto customize any industrial softwarepackage in a matter of minules witheasy{o-use, Iill-in{he-blanks simplicity.Because users can so easilycustomize the l/O to their software,third party software integration limecan be reduced by as much as 95%.

Far more than just a key-macro utility,the MKE enables operators using theFactoryl\4ate Plus 286 or FactorylvlatePlus 386 to customize and relabel anyof the system's 60 alpha-numericmembrane keys, treeing memory fordemanding applications. Operatorscan relabel the membrane keys tomatch their specif ic manufacluringprocess requirements. Utilizing themenu driven Membrane Key Edilor,users can easily understand andquickly implement third party softwaresolulions for their manufacturingapplications-f u rther reducing soft-ware integralion time. The MKE willgenerale commands in the DOSenvironment to help start programs orrun macros outside of individualaoolication software and reducekeystrokes while running applications.

The FactoryMale Plus 286 andFactoryMate Plus 386 each leature apanel-mounted N EMA 4/12 "works-in-adrawer. ' hardened package designthat withstands the most demandingplant environments. Since their"works-in-adrawer" can be quickl,accessed for easy expansion orupdates, these systems are uniquelyserviceable. In addition, by having theoption of an 80286 microprocessor inthe FactoryMate Plus 286, or an 80386microprocessor in the Factoryl\4atePlus 386, users have the flexibility todetermine the level of perlormancethey require in their appllcation.

An eight-slot passive backplane in theFactoryMate Plus 286 and Factory-Mate Plus 386 includes 5 slots forfuture expansion. As faclory controlapplicalion requirements grow orchange, the additional expansion slotsenable the users to easily and inexpen-

sively add functionality by addingboards to modify or expand theirapplication.

Each Factorylvlate Plus 286 andFactorylvlate Plus 386 includes a 40megabyte lBlVl AT hard disk drive,f loppy disk controller, two serial portsand one parallel port (on 1 card).

Membrane Key Editor-Lets theuser redefine the outputs of the 60membrane keys. Allows independentassignments of the keystrokes sent tothe computer, as well as options foraudio-feedback and auto repeat oneach press and/or release. lt alsopermits independent selection for bothJeatures on each key.

Membrane keys can be configured Iormultiple keystrokes includingalphanLme.ic. control and alt-key.Each can have multiple keystrokesoutput on each key press and on eachrelease.

The editor places an image of theFactoryMate Plus membrane keysonto the screen to allow easy selectionof each key Ior coniiguration. Changescan be made and documented inminutes.

The lvlembrane Key Editor enables theuser to configure the membranekeyboard for 174 different key outpuls.In addition to the membrane keyboard,a standard IBN/I-AT compatiblekeyboard may be used.
