The Challenge: FactoryMation’s growth and expanded product catalog were putting pressures on
their warehouse operations. Order pickers were required to memorize the layout of
the warehouse and use extreme caution to ensure orders were picked accurately.
Many SKUs have similar part numbers, so picking quickly and accurately was a
challenge. They realized they needed to implement a system that would increase
efficiency without sacrificing accuracy. In order to meet their sophisticated ware-
house requirements, NetSuite recommended an SDN partner. The requirements
included:
Leverage bar code scanning to improve receiving, picking, and improved inventory control.
Real time synchronization with NetSuite
Integration with UPS WorldShip and FedEx Ship Manager
The Solution: Initially based on trade-offs, FactoryMation selected a more full functioned WMS;
however, it only provided batch integration to NetSuite. Unfortunately, the imple-
mentation and quality were too challenging and they connected with OzLINK. The
team at Oz quickly mapped out the requirements, and the solution was implement-
ed in 4 weeks. The solution included:
