Did you know...The average beef cow herd size in Canada is 63.

Canada fed 2.5 million cattle in 2015 (finished to market weight) down 12% from 2014.

Western Canada finishes 75% of all fed cattle in Canada.

In 2015, Canada produced 2.7 billion pounds of beef, down 9% from 2014.

Cattle and calf cash receipts in 2015 totaled $10.51 billion, up 7% from 2014.

Beef production contributed $15 billion to Canada’s GDP (2011-2015 average).

In 2015, Canada exported 45% of total beef and cattle produced in Canada.

On a net basis (subtracting out imports), Canada exported 25% of its beef and cattle production in 2015.

Canadian beef exports were valued at $2.23 billion in 2015, up 15% from $1.94 billion in 2014.

63% of the farms have 19% of the beef cows andeach of these farms has less than 47 cows.
