1. INTRODUCTION

SAP University Alliances has set for itself a target to reach out to 1 million students globally and expose them to the knowledge of HANA. In the process we will influence the next generation influencers and spread the SAP Innovation Story to the world. SAP University Alliances India team is participating in many University events and festivals in India where a large number of students gather to exchange knowledge and cultural learnings. BITs Pilani, Goa Campus, India hosted their Annual International Techno Management Festival from February 1-3, 2013, where SAP UA team sponsored the festival and got the opportunity to reach out to 3400+ students out of a total participation of around 6500 students. The team had set up a booth to facilitate information exchange on SAP HANA and SAP University Alliances. A one page document with information on HANA was distributed to around 3000 students at the event though the help of student volunteers. On the spot quizes on SAP HANA were conducted at the venue as well along with a lucky draw for who registered at the UA booth. Around 280 students also got to hear Mr Gautam Arora from SAP GDC India, talk about SAP HANA at a lecture session organized on 2nd Feb. The Speaker session also showcased videos on SAP HANA – highlighting SAP HANA Academy to the students. A preview of Techniversity 2012, Bangalore was also shown to the students at the session. The college has also shared a database of a total of 6500 students who had registered for the event which would be used to share information on how to register for SAP HANA Academy and invite students to join the Student Council.

2.1 About the University BITs Pilani is a deemed university with its first campus in Pilani, Rajasthan and the 2nd campus in Goa. BITS Pilani is one of India’s leading higher education institutes and has 15 academic departments focused on engineering and sciences. BITS Pilani has campuses in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (BITS, Pilani-Dubai), Goa, India (BITS-Pilani Goa), Hyderabad, India (BITS Pilani Hyderabad Campus). The Goa campus started functioning from First semester 2004-05 with an annual intake of 600 students in 11 first degree programmes. Higher degree programmes were started from First semester 2008-09. Till date, four batches have graduated from this campus; I am extremely happy to say that Goa campus alumni have made us proud by their contribution to industry and academia. 2.2 SAP University Alliances @ BITs Pilani, Goa BITs Pilani is not a member of the SAP University Alliances yet and with this event the team hopes to start building relations with them and induct them as a new member soon

3. ABOUT QUARK 2013

With a plethora of events to challenge one’s expertise as well as palpate ones inquisitiveness, Quark sets the stage for face-offs between the best minds in the disciplines of Engineering, Science and Management. It organizes workshops in various technical and corporate areas, giving participants an opportunity to tread new fields by gaining hands-on practical knowledge from eminent professionals. Quark offers a platform to budding innovators to exchange ideas and showcase cutting edge research through special events such as the Paper Presentation and Open Showcase. Exhibitions and lectures by exceptional individuals and organizations have inspired and educated the aspiring techies. In addition, Quark caters to the gaming enthusiasts via MATKA, a three day gaming extravaganza where gamers fight it out for the glory of being crowned the ‘God-like Gamer’.

3.1 SAP University Alliances @BITs Pilani, Goa 3.1.1 SAP University Alliances Booth The UA team had set up a booth at the event and run various activities from the booth. The booth was the point of information on various SAP related topics with focus on SAP HANA. The students were informed about the various technologies that SAP is innovating in such as Cloud, Mobility, Big Data etc. The UA team also spoke to the students about SAP University Alliances to get them to register on various portals like SCN and the HANA Academy as a way to influence them to learn about SAP HANA. A one page document was distributed to all the students visiting the booth. Please see Appendix 6.1

3.1.2 On the Spot Quizes on SAP HANA @UA Stall The students took part in the “On the Spot Quiz on SAP HANA” organized at the booth where the students were asked questions from the One Page document on SAP HANA that was shared with them at the booth. They students read the sheet for 2-3 minutes and then enthusiastically answered the questions asked by the UA team.

3.1.2 Speaker Sessions on SAP HANA On 2nd Feb, Mr Gautam Arora- CRM Manager, Global Delivery –SAP Labs joined the UA team at BITs Pilani, Goa Campus and delivered a session with SAP HANA as the focus to around 200 students. It was a great opportunity for the UA Team India to showcase our technology and various videos on the main stage and reach out to a great number of students. This opportunity has helped to the maximum to get as much message sent out a great many number of students.

3.1.3 On the Spot Quiz on SAP HANA @the lecture session A fun session “On the spot quiz” was organized where questions on SAP HANA were asked to the students. On providing the right answers students received SAP Premiums such as T-Shirts, Bags, Pen Drives and mugs. The students were really excited and showed a lot of enthusiasm and attentive participation during the quiz as the questions were asked from the slides and the flyers on SAP HANA which were distributed to the students.

Winners of the Quiz getting prizes from the UA Team 3.1.4 SAP team @ the Intercollege Business Idea Competition-Quest 5 teams of 17 students participated in the finals of the Inter college business Idea competition –called Quest to win exciting prizes from BITS Pilani and SAP University Alliances. The students had to work on a Innovative solution to a practical problem and present working prototype / idea as well as presentations.The competition was pretty stiif and the SAP team of Gautam Arora and Rahul Sachdev found it hard to judge and select the top 3 winning teams and gave prizes to them.
