1. Holders of KCSE with mean grade of C plain and at least C pass in any of the following subjects: biology, chemistry, agriculture or physics.

2. Holders of KCE with division II and at least a pass in biology or chemistry, or physics or agriculture, or physical science or mathematics.

3. Holders of KACE with at least one Principal level pass and at least subsidiary pass in biology or chemistry or physics or mathematics.

4. Holders of certificate in Crop Protection, Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Environmental Science or related Plant or Biological Sciences.

5. Holders of Diploma, Higher diploma or degree in any natural or biological sciences.

Admission requirements 1. The common Regulations for the Masters’ Degree in all Faculties shall be applicable.2. The regulations for the Degree of Master of Science by coursework and thesis in the Faculty of

Agriculture shall be applicable.3. Candidates must have at least an Upper Second Class Honours Degree or its equivalent in a relevant

field4. Holders of at least a Lower Second Class honours degree in a relevant from the University of Nairobi

or from another Institution recognized by the Senate, but must show proof of academic advancement either through research and publication or postgraduate training.

5. Pass degree with at least five years of experience and must show proof of academic advancement either through research and publication or postgraduate training.

POSTGRADUATE DIPLOMA IN FOOD SAFETY & QUALITYPOSTGRADUATE DIPLOMA IN AGRICULTURAL INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION MANAGEMENT(Available in Open/Distance and e-learning; Full-time; Part-time; Evening/Weekend. Materials in print andavailable on-line)Admission Requirements

1. The common regulations governing the admission into postgraduate diploma degree programme in University of Nairobi shall apply.

2. At least Upper Second Class Honours Degree or equivalent or equivalent in any discipline from a University recognized by Senate.

3. At least Lower Second Class Honours Degree or equivalent tin any discipline from a University recognized by Senate with at least two years experience.

4. Pass degree or equivalent in any discipline from a University recognized by Senate with at least three years relevant experience.

Admission Requirements1. The common regulations for the degree in all faculties shall be applicable.2. A holder of Bachelor’s and master’s degree from the University of Nairobi; OR3. A holder of a bachelor’s and master’s degree or equivalent academic qualification of another

institution recognized by the University of Nairobi Senate as of comparable status.4. In either case, the applicant must be able to produce evidence, to the satisfaction to carry out original

research.5. In addition to producing evidence of eligibility for registration, candidates for the Doctor of Philosophy

degree may be required to appear for interview by the faculty/institute/center concerned to determine their suitability for registration.

6. The programme is by research and thesis.
