Development of DNA fingerprinting tool for animals

DNA fingerprinting, or DNA typing, is the use of DNA analysis to identify an individual.

A common technique used to fingerprint DNA is based upon the variability between

individuals of several noncoding regions of DNA in the genome, called VNTRs (variable

number of tandem repeats). DNA samples can include blood, skin, fecal matter, hair or

fur, semen, saliva and anything else that comes off the animal’s body while going about

its daily business. In particular, urban and wild authorities can use DNA testing to

identify animals that have attacked humans. Biologists will often use DNA fingerprinting

for tracking the migration habits of animals or even identifying whole new species of

animals. DNA samples are kept in laboratories and new samples can be compared to the

old by breaking down the genetic strands in each and comparing their helixes. Radically

Automatic plant Irrigation system using GSM and Arduino

The main purpose of this project is that, according to the moisture levels, the controller actives

the solenoid valve using the battery. The controller also generates signal corresponding to the

moisture levels, and then the signal can be transmitted through the GSM modem to mobile.

When the solenoid valve ON the corresponding message will be forward to our mobile number

which was already programmed in controller unit. In this plant Irrigation system, soil moisture

sensor the soil and if level is low then Arduino switches ON a solenoid valve to provide water to

plant. Solenoid valve gets automatically OFF when system finds enough moisture in the soil.

Whenever system switched ON or OFF the valve, a message is sent to the user via GSM module,

updating the status of solenoid valve and soil moisture. This system is very useful in Farms,

gardens, home etc.

In three phase power supply system the given phase are R, Y and B respectively. Due to

unbalanced load or phase distribution and not equality voltage supply any one phase may be cut

or breakdown the phase it is called single phasing. Like these types of condition a machine

receive in supply only two phase.so voltages is down this cause the motor is working very slowly

and voice fully.it protect the motors against single phasing or reverse phasing or unbalance

supply is one of the major problems in electrical system. It operates on the principle of sensing

negative frequency component of the system.so this type circumstances the electrocution supply

automatically off.

Reducing waiting time in elevator

Now days the elevators are necessity these days whether it comes to commercial or residential

building. The elevator must provide a special link between the demand by the users and available

access. It is important to have a mechanism through which we can reduce the wait time for

human beings while entering elevator. The purpose of this project is to reducing the ideal waiting

time for the elevator by using the Arduino UNO and Infrared sensor and developing a method in

which when elevator cage is loaded it runs at normal rated speed & when the elevator cage is

empty it’s run at high desirable speed.

Earthquake Resistant Structures Are Structures Designed To Protect Building From

Earthquakes. An Earthquake Is A Phenomena Resulting From The Sudden Release Of

Stored Energy In The Earth’s Crust Which Creates Seismic Waves. Earthquake proof

buildings...one way to make a simple structure more resistant to these lateral forces is to tie

the walls, floor, roof and foundations into a rigid box that holds together when shaken by a

quake. Base isolation, also known as seismic base isolation or base isolation system, is one

of the most popular means of protecting a structure against earthquake forces. It is a

collection of structural elements which should

substantially decouple a superstructure from its substructure resting on a shaking ground

thus protecting a building or non-building structure's integrity. Base isolation is one of the

Construction of Ornithopter By Using Linkage Mechanism

Meaning of “Ornithopter”

An ornithopter is an aircraft that flies by flapping its wings.

Ornithopter word takes From Greek ornithos "bird" and pteron "wing"

Objectives

To develop a battery-powered ornithopter and prolong flight time.Use linkage

mechanism.

Historical Data

The first ornithopters capable of flight were constructed in France.

Gustavetrouve scientist was developed an ornithopter using IC engine and his 1890

model flew a distance of 80 m in a demonstration.

Innovation in ornithopter

The new innovation is that the use of small flappig wings at both side of body which

provide thrust and this innovation eliminated the need of for gear reduction, therefore it converts

into simple construction.

Applications

In military application without alerting enemies that they are under

surveillance.

Inspection of forest and help bird & animal by Division of Wildlife.

Working

In our project model we use one crank and connecting rods. The flapping wings are

assembled to the connecting rod.

The wings are hinged at the two different slots at both sides. When the current is

passing through this device by use of remote. The crank shaft and connecting rods oscillates.

This oscillation motion of connecting rod leads to flapping of wings. Movement of

wings generates thrust. It can lift ornithopter.

Construction of Low-Cost Cotton Wicks Machine

1. INTRODUCTION

1.1 DEFINITION

Developmentof Low Cost Cotton Wicks Machine.

1.2 HISTORY

Cotton wicks for divas are mostly prepared women using their hands. Though machines

for making long cotton wicks are available however, there is no machine available for making

cotton wicks with bulbous base. The modernisers have developed a machine to automate the

process of making round cotton wicks.

1.3 PURPOSE

Machines for production long cotton wick are available in the shop for industries

however there is no machine available for making round cotton wick for small scale production

or for cottage industries. Usually, it is being made as a house hold activity by women in rural and

urban areas during their spare time to generate additional income to support their family.

1.4 OBJECTIVE

The economic situation of cotton wick industry and increasing demand of wicks has

forced the wick industry to use all possibilities of increasingprductivity. Our aim is reduce cost,

simple construction and increase production rate.

2. CONSTRUCTION

In the terms of long cotton wicks or slivers production generally made by hand and long

cotton wicks machine is available but not preferable for every production unit. In this era

bubble base wicks is more require in market. Bubble base cotton wicks machine also

available in market but it is costly as compare to its productivity, cause of its complicated

mechanism and costly components.

As per our aim of project we need economical components and due to reduce cost of our

project as compare to market. E.g. in market product body of CWM is made of metal and we

will use wooden body for it, advantage of it will reduce cost and weight also.

For making of bubble base of wicks we require a component “wick box”. horizontal

rectangular grooved at bottom and vertical rectangular groove from top of wick box to top of

horizontal rectangular groove. Metal rod will rotate in vertical groove through DC motor for

making of brick shape of wick. Shown in fig.

Fig. 3.1 Through help of wicks box generate two wicks at a time, there will be two wicks box

work in this machine. A single motor located on top of each wick box to rotate metal rod.

After generation of wicks need to remove wicks from box, at that time a slide remove from

wicks box, slide will operated through manually handle.

4. CONCLUSION

With the help of this mechanized system, wicks can be produced more efficiently &

economically. In case of manual method one man can able to produce 12 wicks per minutes. This

Mechanized system enables the worker to produce 42 to 44wicks per minutes with uniform

quality it has advantage of low cost compare to market. Our CWM (Cotton Wicks Machine) will

useful increase production rate in the low cost. The main objective of project is devolution of

CWM and to provide a easy mechanism specially for small production unit of cotton wicks. So

that they will directly able to mass production of cotton wicks and get more profit.
