August 2007 - REGENTS PROFESSOR, awarded by the Board of Regents, Sam Houston State University. This is the highest award the university and the Board of Regents can bestow on any professor. This is the first time that the Board of Regents of Sam Houston State University has given this award to the six universities it governs. Six awards were given to professors from the six universities under the Board of Regents; two Sam Houston professors received the award. This was one of them.
