4-H Families,
This year has been anything, but ordinary. We have been working dili-
gently to ensure that Delaware County 4-H members have the oppor-
tunity to showcase their projects at the Delaware County Fair. The
health and safety of our youth members, volunteers, families, judges,
and staff is our top priority.
The Delaware County Extension Office has followed guidance from
Iowa 4-H Summer Best Practices, Iowa State University, and Iowa
Public Health to put together a plan for Delaware County Fair 4-H
events and livestock shows.
Please be mindful of all the changes and modifications we have made
for the 2020 Delaware County 4-H & FFA livestock shows and events.
Please ensure that you know the correct check-in time and location.
Complete the required paperwork and bring it to check-in.
Take the time to review all fair plans that pertain to you. 2020 Fair
Plans can be found on our website at: https://
www.extension.iastate.edu/delaware/content/2020-delaware-county-
fair-plans
While we have made some adjustments to our shows and events, we
know that our families and supporters will be diligent and work with us
to make this happen!
The Delaware County Fair holds a special place in all our hearts. We
are so thankful for all of our loyal partners, volunteers, families, and
exhibitors who make the Delaware County Fair a wonderful celebration
each and every year.

2020 Fair Expectations Limited spectator seating will be available with social distancing during any and all of
the livestock shows. Please take personal responsibility into consideration when at-
tending. Changes such as COVID-19 case count and current proclamations at the
time of the show may eliminate this opportunity. Live streaming of all shows will be
available.
Please be courteous to others and parents of exhibitors in the showring. Follow
posted signage and social distancing guidelines.
Access to the livestock barns will be limited to family members and project commit-
tee members assisting exhibitors with judging preparation as well as Fairboard mem-
bers and Extension staff. Changes such as COVID-19 case count and proclama-
tions at fair time may eliminate these opportunities.
No outside coolers or carry-ins will be allowed on the grounds. The Steer-N-Stein
will be open each day of the fair.
Auction:
We ask that only active buyers and parents attend the livestock auction. We will
have an online bidding option available, thanks to Old 20 Auctions. The information
and links for the online auction option will be posted on our website and Facebook
page before the sale.
If a fair participant or volunteer tests positive for COVID-19, the Extension Council in
conjunction with public health will determine if fair activities will be canceled .
Camping at the Fair!
The campgrounds for the Fair will be open for 2020. Camping will be allowed on the
East and West side of the campgrounds, on the East side, the whole camper must
stay East of the poles in that area.
Please pay attention to the camp host’s directions prior
to connecting to make sure you are in the correct
camping spot.
Camping will be $150 from Sunday night before the fair
through Sunday morning of the Fair or $25/night if you
only wish to stay for a few nights.
Ribbons and Trophy Distribution at Fair!
To limit the number of transferring items from person to person,
ribbons will not be given out at livestock
shows. Results will be recorded and ribbons
will be mailed to exhibitors after fair week.
Trophies will be given to exhibitors at live-
stock shows. One show volunteer will be
designated to give trophies to exhibitors.
