Fair Play – Equal Rules
Fair Play, Equal Rules campaigning started in Finland in the year 2006
Campaign is a joint effort of three Finnish NGO’s: Pro Fair Trade Finland (Repu) Football Association of Finland (Suomen Palloliitto) Trade Union Solidarity Center of Finland (SASK)
The overall goal of the campaign is to improve working conditions in sports gear production, especially football production, in the developing countries

Working with volunteers of sport Sports club volunteers are the most important group
for the campaign:

Sports club activities is the biggest voluntary movement in Finland

Understanding the volunteersof the sports sector
People work in the sports clubs as a volunteer for different reasons, here are couple of examples: Physical and mental healt Family Tradition Passion and idealism
The important thing is to find the different ways how Fair Trade, Equal Rules -campaign can support the basic work of volunteers in the sports clubs -> how the idea of the campaign becomes part of the normal activities of the clubs

How do we do it?
Inform effectively the correct message of the campaign
Inform effectively how to improve the goal of campaign
Find the right people from the club
-> Break the wrong thoughts about Fair Trade Footballs and the idea of the campaign
-> Help volunteers to find the ways how they can support the campaign in their own sports club
-> Don’t hesitate to take a contact, be supportive all the time

Results so far...
In 3 years Fair Trade, Equal Rules -campaign has found 20 -30 contact from different sport clubs
Next challenge is to create networks between those clubs and find more - > Umbro's Fair Trade footballs will help that a lot in the future!
Year 2009 the campaign will arrange two open educational weekends for all the Finnish volunteers: Basic information about the campaign, how to inspire
sports clubs to use ethical products etc. Volunteers from sport clubs, Pro Fair Trade Finland and
Labour Unions will be invited
