Fairbanks Pioneer Home News Issue 229 November 2019 Please welcome our newest residents Edmund Titus and Judith “Judy” Pusti. Please stop by and say ‘hello!’ and learn something new about your new neighborsOctober in Review October had gone back and forth between the rain and the snow but as the days get shorter and darker, winter has finally arrived. Residents kicked off October by voting in the local elections with a little help from the Women’s League of Voters. We got into the Halloween spirit by decorating, setting up the Halloween Tunnel, Halloween games, and traditional pumpkin carving. We had some familiar faces and new visitors come to the home in October. Eielson Youth Leadership came back to visit on October 5 th . Emily, the youth fiddler, made her debut and entertained our residents on October 10 th and October 17 th . First Baptist Youth group hosted Bingo for our residents on October 19 th . Elvis Live shook us all up and adorned us with scarves on October 24 th . On October 25 th Arctic Explorers Pre-K visited, all in full costume, to deliver some tricks but mostly treats to residents for a ‘reverse trick or treat’ event. October in Review October had gone back and forth between the rain and the snow but as the days get shorter and darker, winter has finally arrived.

Residents kicked off October by voting in the local elections with a little help from the Women’s League of Voters.

We got into the Halloween spirit by decorating, setting up the Halloween Tunnel, Halloween games, and traditional pumpkin carving.

We had some familiar faces and new visitors come to the home in October. Eielson Youth Leadership came back to visit on October 5th.

Looking Ahead November 11th- Happy Veteran’s Day!!!

Mrs. Hovda’s 2nd grade class from Weller Elementary school will be at the Home on November 12th @ 11:45am to sing and visit during lunch.

Fairbanks Youth Orchestra will be visiting residents on November 16th @ 2:00 pm.

Monroe Catholic School will be visiting the Pioneer Home for the annual ‘Day of Service’ on November 27st @ Noon. The Monroe

3 orchestra will be playing during the lunch hour in the Recreation Room.

Thanksgiving is November 28th. Come dine with family and friends for a traditional Thanksgiving dinner @ noon. Make sure to RSVP by 5pm on November 22nd. Please call 458-2230 to RSVP.

Ravendale Academy will be performing on November 30th at 1:00pm in the Recreation Room.

Veteran’s Day is Monday, November 11th. Thank you to all veterans who have served

for our country and especially to the veterans residing at the Fairbanks Pioneer Home!

Thank you for your service and dedication to preserving our way of life.

Thanksgiving dinner is November 28th

@ noon. RSVP for the Thanksgiving meal

In Memoriam Our beloved residents Loretta Bemis, Judith “Judy” Pusti, Marcel Colp, Cathy Jones, and Roger Anderson passed away in October. We

will keep their families in our thoughts. We will miss our dear residents♥
