F.U.M.C. NEWS

A MESSAGE FROM PASTOR DONNA…

I serve a risen Savior He’s in the world today. I know that He is living, Whatever foes may say.

I see His hand of mercy; I hear His voice of cheer;

And just the time I need Him He’s always near.

He lives, He lives, Christ Jesus lives today! He walks with me and talks with me along life’s narrow way.

He lives, He lives, salvation to impart! You ask me how I know He lives?

He lives within my heart

This hymn written in the 1930’s by Pastor Alfred H. Ackley in response to a man’s question about why he should worship “a dead Jew” led to the writing of these words. They are as true now as they have always been for those who love and serve Christ. Whatever the message is in our broken world, we have

this truth to sustain us. Christ lives! We know this because He lives in our hearts and is always near! Come celebrate during this Easter season the res-

urrected Savior, Jesus Christ.

LOOKING BACK…………………… It is now officially Spring! It may not feel like it, but Easter is just around the corner. Orders are be-ing taken for the flowers that tra-ditionally grace the altar in our sanctuary during the time of Palm Sunday and Easter. FoodTastic Fridays are now his-tory after nine years of serving high school students. An appreci-ation luncheon was served to some of those who have helped with this activity. Thanks to Pastor Donna, Eliza-beth, with help from Sue and Sylvia for doing the work. Another prom dress give-a-way was held earlier in the month. Twenty five girls received dresses that day, and it is on-going for any girl who still needs a dress. Thank you to Donna Reever and all those who helped with the give-a-way. Also thank you to those who donated dresses, acces-sories, or money for this project. The Round Robin Lenten services are winding down with the last

one back here again on Palm Sunday evening. Rev. Rus-sell Anderson will be preaching. These services have been held each Sunday during Lent with a social time following. Cookies are needed for Sunday night so-cial time. A Easter Egg hunt will be held for the children on Saturday the 31st with breakfast being served as well. Donations of individually wrapped candy are needed to fill the eggs. At this time we look forward to the up-coming services of the Easter season with great music from our choir a well as the piano and organ. Tom is back with the choir and they are practicing and singing full time. We are happy to have Elaine Wilson playing her violin to accompany the choir on Palm Sunday. We do appreciate those who filled in with special music to supplement the choir and to Cori and Diane for their directing duties.

Make a note to bring your WADI non-perishable

donations on April 1, no fooling
