Community Charter for Fairfields estateTRANSCRIPT
Fairfields Community
Charter
to a better place to live
Sign up
The Fairfields Community Charter is an agreement between the people who live there and the people who provide services on the estate. It has been designed jointly by all of the people involved. To make the Charter a success, the community, Meres and Mosses Housing Association, the Police and the Council need to be aware of their responsibilities and agree to work together to
make and keep the area cleaner, safer, and greener.
We have all worked hard over the past year to improve the estate, and by working together, we have made a
big difference. We have been awarded a “Cleaner, Safer, Greener Kitemark” by Keep Britain Tidy because of the work we have done.
Now it’s time to keep the good work going, and we want everyone on the estate to sign up to this Charter, including all new tenants who move onto the estate, to show we are serious about working together for our community.
So what are we all signing up to?

We will: ● Work together with the residents
and other partner agencies to create a cleaner, safer, greener environment, which makes Fairfields Estate a better place to live.
● Take strong and effective action to tackle any problems of an anti social nature, including legal action, and respond professionally and sensitively to complaints made.
● Carry out repairs on time and provide information on planned works, such as new kitchens and bathrooms, for your estate.
● Take part in regular neighbourhood walkabouts with you and hold surgeries.
● Ensure that effective action is taken against tenants who do not accept responsibility for offensive actions of their children or visitors to their home.

● Store your rubbish in the wheelie bins provided and recycle wherever possible.
