The enemy has specific target areas in your life:

1.) Your relationship with Jesus Christ

“One day the angels came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan also came with them. The

Lord said to Satan, ‘Where have you come from?’ Satan answered the Lord, ‘From roaming through the earth and going back and forth in it.’ Then the Lord said to

Satan, ‘Have you considered my servant Job? There is no one on earth like him; he is blameless and upright, a

man who fears God and shuns evil.’” – Job 1:6-8

The enemy has specific target areas in your life:

1.) Your relationship with Jesus Christ

2.) Your blessing from God

Page 6: Faith Under Attack Power Point

“’Does Job fear God for nothing?’ Satan replied. ‘Have you not put a hedge around him and his household and

everything he has? You have blessed the work of his hands, so that his flocks and herds are spread

throughout the land. But stretch out your hand and strike everything he has, and he will surely curse you to

your face.’ The Lord said to Satan, ‘Very well, then, everything he has is in your hands, but on the man

himself do not lay a finger.’ Then Satan went out from the presence of the Lord.” – Job 1:9-12

“While he was still speaking, yet another messenger came and said, ‘Your sons and daughters were feasting and drinking wine at the oldest brother’s house, when suddenly a mighty wind swept in from the desert and struck the four corners of the house. It collapsed on them and they are dead, and I am the only one who

has escaped to tell you!’” – Job 1:18-19

2.) Your blessing from God

3.) Your family

4.) Your physical self

“’Skin for skin!’ Satan replied. ‘A man will give all he has for his own life. But stretch out your hand and strike his

flesh and bones, and he will surely curse you to your face.’ The Lord said to Satan, ‘Very well, then, he is in

your hands; but you must spare his life.’ So Satan went out from the presence of the Lord and afflicted Job

with painful sores from the soles his feet to the top of his head. Then Job took a piece of broken pottery and

scraped himself with it as he sat among the ashes.” – Job 2:4-8

Page 11: Faith Under Attack Power Point

“When Job’s three friends, Eliphaz the Temanite, Bildadthe Shuhite and Zophar the Naamathite, heard about all the troubles that had come upon him, they set out

from their homes and met together by agreement to go and sympathize with him and comfort him. When they saw him from a distance, they could hardly recognize him; they began to weep aloud, and they tore their

robes and sprinkled dust on their heads. Then they sat on the ground with him for seven days and seven

nights. No one said a word to him, because they saw

Page 12: Faith Under Attack Power Point

how great his suffering was.” – Job 2:11-13

Page 13: Faith Under Attack Power Point

As crafty as the enemy is… in the midst of hardship, pain, and suffering:

1.) WE ARE MORE THAN CONQUERORS

Page 14: Faith Under Attack Power Point

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according

to his purpose. For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.

And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also

glorified. What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all-how will

Page 15: Faith Under Attack Power Point

he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. Who is he that

condemns? Christ Jesus, who died – more than that, who was raised to life – is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. Who shall separate us from

the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or

sword? As it is written: ‘For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be

Page 16: Faith Under Attack Power Point

slaughtered.’ No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am

convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor

any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate use from the

love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” – Romans 8:28-39

Page 17: Faith Under Attack Power Point

As crafty as the enemy is… in the midst of hardship, pain, and suffering:

1.) WE ARE MORE THAN CONQUERORS

2.) WE ARE TO REMAIN STRONG

Page 18: Faith Under Attack Power Point

“You then, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. And the things you have heard me say in

the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable men who will also be qualified to teach others. Endure

hardship with us like a good soldier of Christ Jesus. No one serving as a soldier gets involved in civilian affairs –he wants to please his commanding officer. Similarly, if

anyone competes as an athlete, he does not receive the victor’s crown unless he competes according to the rules. The hardworking farmer should be the first to

Page 19: Faith Under Attack Power Point

receive a share of the crops. Reflect on what I am saying, for the Lord will give you insight into all this.

Remember Jesus Christ, raised from the dead, descended from David. This is my gospel, for which I am suffering even to the point of being chained like a criminal. But God’s word is not chained. Therefore I

endure everything for the sake of the elect, that they too may obtain the salvation that is in Christ Jesus, with

eternal glory. Here is a trustworthy saying: If we died with him, we will also live with him; if we endure, we

Page 20: Faith Under Attack Power Point

will also reign with him. If we disown him, he will also disown us; if we are faithless, he will remain faithful, for

he cannot disown himself.” – 2 Timothy 2:1-13

Page 21: Faith Under Attack Power Point

As crafty as the enemy is… in the midst of hardship, pain, and suffering:

1.) WE ARE MORE THAN CONQUERORS

2.) WE ARE TO REMAIN STRONG

3.) WE MUST KEEP THE FAITH; FINISH THE RACE

Page 22: Faith Under Attack Power Point

“But you, keep your head in all situations, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, discharge all the duties of your ministry. For I am already being poured out like a drink offering, and the time has come for my departure. I have fought the good fight, I have finished

the race, I have kept the faith.” - 2 Timothy 4:5-7

As crafty as the enemy is… in the midst of hardship, pain, and suffering:

1.) WE ARE MORE THAN CONQUERORS

2.) WE ARE TO REMAIN STRONG

3.) WE MUST KEEP THE FAITH; FINISH THE RACE

4.) WE MUST GET OVER OURSELVES

Page 24: Faith Under Attack Power Point

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that

hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of

our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right

hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not

grow weary and lose heart. In your struggle against sin,

Page 25: Faith Under Attack Power Point

you have not yet resisted to the point of shedding your blood. And you have forgotten that word of

encouragement that addresses you as sons: ‘My son, do not make light of the Lord’s discipline, and do not

lose heart when he rebukes you, because the Lord disciplines those he loves, and he punishes everyone he accepts as a son.’ Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as sons. For what son is not disciplined by

his father? If you are not disciplined (and everyone undergoes discipline), then you are illegitimate children

Page 26: Faith Under Attack Power Point

and not true sons. Moreover, we have all had human fathers who disciplined us and we respected them for it. How much more should we submit to the Father of

our spirits and live! Our fathers disciplined us for a little while as they thought best; but God disciplines us for

our good, that we may share in his holiness. No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it. Therefore,

strengthen your feeble arms and weak knees. Make

Page 27: Faith Under Attack Power Point

level paths for your feet, so that the lame may not be disabled, but rather healed.” – Hebrews 12:1-13

4.) WE ARE TO GET OVER OURSELVES

5.) WE ARE TO FAITHFULLY SUFFER

Page 29: Faith Under Attack Power Point

“Dear friends, do not be surprised at the painful trial you are suffering, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice that you participate in

the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed. If you are insulted because of the name of Christ, you are blessed, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you. If you suffer, it should

not be as a murderer or thief or any other kind of criminal, or even as a meddler. However, if you suffer as

a Christian, do not be ashamed, but praise God that

Page 30: Faith Under Attack Power Point

you bear that name. For it is time for judgment to begin with the family of God; and if it begins with us, what will the outcome be for those who do not obey the

gospel of God? (might I add that a part of obeying the gospel is trusting in His word?) And, ‘If it is hard for the righteous to be saved, what will become of the ungodly and the sinner?’ So then, those who suffer according to

God’s will should commit themselves to their faithful Creator and continue to do good.” – 1 Peter 4:12-19
