Dear Friends,

As the mother of 5 children, I understand many of the stresses and challenges that parenting can bring. That is why I am excited to share with you the Faithful Beginnings Readiness Guide. It combines important kindergarten readiness milestones, basic faith truths, scriptures, and simple activities parents can do at home with their children. It is not intended to be a doctrinal work, but simply a collection of ideas to strengthen families and congregations. Several different translations of scriptures have been used to communicate the teachings. Our hope is that you will use this as a guide to expand and explore many of the ideas presented with your family. This is simply a place to begin.

As you use this guide, we encourage you to:

•PraythatGodwillequipyouonthejourneyoffaithandparenting. •Looktoyourownplaceofworshipforsupportandguidance.

•Spendtimewithyourchildren!Youwillbothbenefitfromthistimetogether.

IhavebeendelightedandrelievedbythepartnershipthatGodprovidesaswelooktohimtohelpus raise our children. As a mother, a verse that greatly encourages me is Isaiah 40:11:

He tends his flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in his armsand carries them close to his heart; he gently leads those that have young. MayGodblessandinspireyouandyourchildren.
